BUYER BEWARE- Save yourself a HUGE potential HEADACHE and read the NUMEROUS 1-STAR Yelp reviews BEFORE buying. It won't take long to start to notice a theme. Dave is a COMPULSIVE LIAR with a LENGTHY history of RIPPING OFF CUSTOMERS like myself whom are FOOLISH ENOUGH TO PREPAY then either never delivering or only delivering A YEAR LATER under the threat of legal action.
IN RESPONSE TO DAVE'S BELOW REPLY which perfectly illustrates just how delusional and out of touch with reality he really is; Dave mentions I’m upset because he wouldn’t write a refund check for a "custom" print I had purchased that he had sent me which is accurate aside from the custom part which is a blatant LIE. So what’s the problem you might ask? Well, there is one small detail Dave CONVENIENTLY FAILED TO MENTION WHICH IS THE REASON I WAS SEEKING A REFUND IN THE FIRST PLACE. He forgot to mention 11 MONTHS ELAPSED FROM THE TIME I PAID FOR THE ITEM(July 2016) TO THE TIME HE FINALLY SHIPPED THE ITEM(June 2017). That’s right, it didn't take Dave 11 days, or even 11 weeks, but 11 months after I had PREPAID for the item to actually ship and even then it was only under threat of legal action. What occurred in between was months and months of him dodging my phone calls(I paid for my item on 7/21 and didn’t get a single response from Dave until 10/3) followed by excuse after excuse and apology after apology and promise after promise to refund my money or deliver my item. If you’re interested in all the detail, including screen captures of our text messages in support of all my claims, please see my Yelp review.
As for his claims of the credit card company siding with him, this is yet another example of the delusional world Dave lives in. My credit card company didn’t side with him, as I outlined in my Yelp review they merely reached out to me requesting more information on account of Dave lying and claiming to have delivered the item(this was in October 2016 and he didn’t deliver the item until June 2017) I asked why he would make such a blatant & false claim to which he apologized of course and claimed it wasn’t him and one of his guys(He’s very good at pinning blame on his employees) must have done it in error and promised to resolve the issue immediately. At this point I hadn’t read any of the other reviews thus didn’t know who I was dealing with so gave him the benefit of the doubt and voluntarily dropped the claim. Don’t take my word for it, though, you can see for yourself in the text log between Dave and I posted to Yelp..
While you’re on Yelp you may notice BY THE PLETHORA OF OTHER 1-STAR REVIEWS THAT my experience IS FAR FROM AN ISOLATED INCIDENT RATHER HE HAS DONE THIS EXACT SAME THING TO A LONG LIST OF CUSTOMERS whom have had virtually the EXACT SAME EXPERIENCE AS MYSELF. If you’re having trouble finding the numerous 1-star reviewers, that’s because by some miracle Dave all the sudden received a flood of 5-star reviews. For everyone’s general awareness, there are companies that specialize in what they call “Online Reputation or brand management”. Essentially what they do is charge companies with negative reviews a fee to write a bunch of fake 5-star reviews to push negative reviews way down the list and to fraudulently raise companies star ratings. Did Dave hire one of these companies to try to silence all the people he’s ripped off over the years? Only Dave can answer that but let’s examine the facts: In the last 2 years Dave had only 1 review on Google and that was a 1-star review claiming he’s a con-artist and ripped the person off. Then all the sudden, Dave miraculously has 10 5-star glowing reviews ALL POP UP ALL WITHIN THE LAST WEEK? Hmm, one has to wonder what are the chances? Even more suspicious, all 10 lack any other activity and have combined to review a grand total of, drum roll please… 1 business, which just so happens to be Dave’s. Objective, unsolicited, legitimate reviews? YOU...
Read moreI ordered artwork from David at his store in Laguna Beach for $257.26. I swiped my card using his Apple Square and did not receive a printout or electronic receipt. I provided my address in San Jose and he was to ship three pieces of artwork. Months went by and I inquired. He apologized and said he signed the artwork and it would be shipped. This went on for couple of weeks and I saved the text messages from him stating he was going to ship them. When I finally asked for a refund he stopped communicating with me. I filed a claim to my credit card company and they said it was reversed because it was an in-store purchase and I needed an invoice to prove the artwork was going to be shipped, which Dave never provided. He has multiple complaints on Google and Yelp reviews for the same issue. People buy artwork when they're on vacation and it's too large to carry back with them so it gets shipped. I am an art collector and have never had this issue. Dave needs to be held accountable for conning multiple customers and also wasting my time having to go through various avenues to get my money back. I'm a working professional taking care of my dad in memory care and do not appreciate spending time that I don't have, but it's not right that he scams people and is not being held accountable. I will take him to court if this is not resolved, which involves more time and money, but he needs to be held responsible so he doesn't continue steeling thousands of dollars from customers. Criminals go to jail for theft, This situation is no different than steeling money from someone when you take their money and don't...
