Regal UA Cinema 90 — Attraction in Lake City

My husband and I went to the movies for the first time in about 5 years and saw Scream. It was $12 and some change per adult and being as we ate right before we got there because it's close to several restaurants, we only got a drink. $7 and some change for a large drink. Kinda crazy because the Zaxbys we just ate, the meals were around $7 each. The theater was clean. Halls, bathrooms, concession stand, gaming area it was all clean. Apparently Sing 2 was playing in the theater next to ours because I could hear what sounded like singing over our movie. My husband and I were seated close to the wall where there's only 2 seats per row so we were right by the wall. I noticed there was only about 12 people in the theater (4:15 show time) when the movie started so I thought it would be nice and peaceful. Nope! The woman sitting about 5 rows back close to the entrance to the theater we were in had 2 kids about 10-12 years of age and they talked the whole time. They talked loudly and she didn't encourage them to be quiet. They kept getting up walking out the door. I have nothing against children, I have 4 myself but i do think it was incredibly rude. I kept thinking any second the mother would ask them to be quiet but she was talking right along with them. The staff should check the rooms every so often during a movie or something and maybe people would take a hint. It was actually my birthday outing with my husband and it was too cold to do anything else and I had a sitter so I thought why not go see a movie since it's been years? This theater is still overpriced for what you get. I do think they have improved in some areas. It almost seems like a hit and miss though. They would use stale popcorn and for the price that is ridiculous. The staff seemed better the past 2 times we went. You are really stuck though with no other competition.

Sometimes the negative theater experience isn't just due to the theater, staff or concession stand.

We went on 5/5/2017 to see the new Guardian of Galaxy 2 movie. We were the 2nd group of people to enter. It was not quite full yet when they were playing the trailers, this man and two teenaged looking people came in. They trampled over people in one aisle (the one in front of us) when there were empty seats. Sat directly in front of us and the one teenager had his hat on and didn't take it off. We had to move to see the movie. The kicker is that as soon as they sat down the teenaged girl started talking loudly and non-stop while the rest of us were watching the trailers. So before we moved I leaned up and told her to please be quiet so others can hear the movie. Of course the nitwit talked through the entire move and kept getting glares from others. The boy never removed his hat.

In those situations go talk to the management. They can give you all the dirty looks they want. We went to watch and listen to the movie not some nitwit blabbing all the way through the entire movie. I felt for the people in...

I'm giving a particular high rating because this place is so clean, not many cinemas are. I know it has just opened back up from the pandemic but I hope they will hire more people. There was only 1 poor person working the front, which included box office and concession stand. I thought I got there early for the movie, I didn't miss any of it but I would arrive earlier next time. I don't purchase any food there because of how super expensive it is. Two patron groups in front of me in line: the mother with a few kids spent almost $60 for popcorn and drinks and I assume the movie tickets, since it was all being done at the same register. I had a prepaid online movie ticket but still had to wait in line to check in. The speed of the line wasn't the employees fault, prepping everyone's food and running the register is a 2 person job easily. The only other person I saw there was the manager (I assume he was, given the suit). I hope whatever he left to do was important, I would never leave an employee by themselves with a large line like that.
