I’m just placing an order for a cake at an SB location in another city, but it reminded me that I needed to post a review about the bakery department at this location. A few months ago, my husband placed an order for a cake over the phone at this location. We asked for a very specific cake because a family member just ordered a similar one not too long before that and we asked for EXACTLY what they asked for (white cake, Bavarian cream filling w/ banana, whipped topping). My husband went to pick up the cake right before we needed it and on the outside, it appeared to be what we asked for. The receipt we received also showed that we ordered what we wanted. Once we sliced the cake, we realized the order was completely wrong (white cake, whipped filling and topping). It was very clear just from the appearance of the inside of the cake that it was wrong. We were charged for the additional toppings we asked for in the original order, so my husband called the bakery department to ask if we could just have a new cake made and we would go pick it up. The person who spoke on the phone said it was okay and they would replace the cake, no need to return the one we received. When my husband called at the time we were told our new cake would be ready, the bakery manager answered the phone and began arguing with him. She stated that not only would we not be receiving the correct order, but that we also could not receive a refund. We had the receipt and photos of the cake we received to show management, but the bakery manager continued to refuse to fix the issue. She would not transfer us to her manager and instead, hung up on my husband. He was not rude, did not raise his voice, nothing that would warrant the behavior of the bakery manager over the phone. She repeatedly told us that it was, “our fault” that we ordered over the phone instead of ordering in person? And that meant the order being wrong (even though the order on the receipt was correct) was not the bakery’s problem. We called again and asked to speak directly to a manager, and she also stated she would not fulfill our order or provide a refund. They stated the, “cost” of the cake was, “too much” to replace. It was about $25. We decided not to continue arguing with the staff about a cheap cake, but agreed we would never be returning to this location for any reason. We currently shop at a different SB and the customer service is significantly better. I would not recommend going to this specific location for anything that would require help from...
Read moreI love working for Stater Bros! I originally got hired at the Elsinore store on 03/2019, than worked for the Temecula store, Winchester store, Yucaipa and Cherry Valley & Calimesa stores, Menifee stores than transferred back to the Lake Elsinore where I feel at home 🏠 I love my Job as a Cashier so much that I would literally be a Volunteer for Stater Bros! That's how much I love working for Stater Bros, I would be a volunteer! I have been in the grocery business since I was 15 with a work permit, getting my first job at Sprouts Farmers Market in Torrance CA, than worked at WinCo in Temecula for 3 years & Organic Roots across the street! I loved working for other grocery stores, but at Stater Bros I actually love coming to work here because I don't feel like I'm working. I meet so many different people every day as a cashier, I tell other cashiers that you never know who may be coming through your line, and providing friendly customer service can really make someone's day better and the impact you can make just by being kind to everyone! I have met the CEO of stater bros twice since I have worked for the company, the first time was in Calimesa at store 71, a customer went up to store manager while the CEO just so happened to be visiting the store, and a customer complimented me to the manager in front of the CEO, and the CEO pulled me out of the check stand just to shake my hand! It's rare for a employee to meet the CEO of any company but that's what I love about this company, it's always been a small family company started by two war veteran brothers Cleo & Leo! The 2 Bros would be happy with the CEO and how he is running their company because their passion truly was customer service. I love this company so much, if I was older and retired and had a lot of time on my hands, I would volunteer at a soup kitchen...
Read moreUpdate, 11/29/2023 I had to visit the US Bank at this location today. On my way back to my car, two homeless guys began yelling and cursing at each other across the parking lot. Management allows these scumbags to congregate along the front wall of the store and in the parking lot. The two men began physically fighting. One of them pulled out a metal bar and hit the other man. I had to call 911 to get these two scum bags taken care of. This further demonstrates the horrible area where this store is and what is tolerated. Stay away!
I have been coming to this store for almost 7 years. The last 3 years I’ve the store has gone down the drain. The meat selection is horrible. The beef quality is junk. It is labeled USDA choice, but would barely be select. The pricing is also outrageous for the low quality of the meat. For about 6 weeks the meat department stunk like rotten meat as well. The produce is in sad shape most of the time. The organic section is also very small. The lines at checkout are always extremely long unless you get to the store when they open. The homeless tweakers in the parking lot harass customers and make the place not welcoming especially of you have small children. I sadly will not be returning like most residents on this end of town. I will be taking my business to the Clinton Keith location. I strongly urge the rest of you to...
