China Moon — Restaurant in Lake Elsinore

Ever since we moved to the Lake Elsinore area, we have been looking for a Chinese food restaurant that was not overly priced and has good Chinese food. We finally found it! I absolutely love this place! We are from Orange County and our favorite place was Yen Ching's. We have been going there for 30 plus years. However they recently closed their doors to retire and enjoy the twilight of their lives, leaving a huge hole in our hearts, and our stomachs. Well, it is my opinion that this place, China Moon, is the reincarnation of Yen Ching's!! They have almost everything on the menu that Yen Ching's has, and the taste is virtually identical, to me anyway. From the paper wrapped chicken, to the mushu pork, and even the sizzling rice soup! Since our discovery I go at least once a week. The staff is friendly and attentive, prices are good, and the food is absolutely amazing! As far as Chinese food goes, this is the only place for me. I ordered the restaurant thru grub hub. The food was standard. The one positive attribute the food was still hot when delivered. The food itself was mediocre. I was very dissatisfied that I requested utensils in the Grubhub app and I detailed that I’m in a hotel. The address is the hotel. The room number is a hotel and my pin. I dropped the name of the location staying at Hotel but they did not deliver utensils and I’m at a motel that is not that doesn’t even offer free breakfast so they don’t have utensils to offer me. Grubhub AI directed me to call restaurant for issue. The restaurant didn’t offer to take a little off my bill or have someone bring me utensils. They are Mile away. I have a toddler ready to go to sleep. Am I supposed to eat with my hands? Also requested chili sauce /chili oil with order but most upset about missing Utensils and the restaurant neglected to provide even though I specifically requested them thru the app and it was detailed I...

Dinner time at China Moon. Called it in, it was ready in 10. The staff was polite and professional. The restaurant and the restroom were clean. The food was hot and tasty. My wife wanted the garlic chicken but I ordered the the one that was not chicken wings (Sawwy honey). As far as Chinese food goes this place is legit in my opinion. The prices are a little high but I think that may just be post Covid pricing and I'm in denial that things will return to the way they were. Anyway, the Egg drop soup with corn was tasty. My Walnut shrimp and Broccoli delicious, the walnuts were crispy and sweet, the broccoli cooked just right, not too crunchy, not too mushy. My Queen was not happy and ate my Walnut Shrimp. All in all a good night. I recommend China Moon, they have a huge selection on the menu. I will be back....
