i have gone to Max Nails for about a year now. I always felt they did a very good job. they take their time and have a great selection of color, etc. However, I made an appointment on Friday for 4 manicure/pedicures. We came in and they did our manicures and then started doing pedicures for some other customers. I asked Max why they weren't setting us up for pedicures and he said that he didn't know we wanted them and that he only had us booked for manicures. I was with my two nieces who were visiting from California and they were very bummed. He then proceeded to say that he could get two of us in now and then do the other two after that as they were already booked with other customers. Ok. Then he spoke in Vietnamese for a few minutes and that was it. I then asked if we could take him up on that and at least let my nieces get their toes done. He then said, oh never mind we can't we are already booked. Ok, I get it he overbooked, his mistake not ours. He never apologized or anything. He just kept doing his clients nails while we stood there dumbfounded. His client even offered to come back later if it meant the little girls could get their toes done. I was very appreciative of her offer, but said it was ok. Max, the owner, didn't offer us anything. He didn't even apologize. He just charged us full price for the manicures and didn't even say good-bye when we left or offer to make up for it next time I came in. So, we will not be coming back. Its sad because its a great location and they do a great job. But customer service is the most important to me, being a business owner as well. There are MANY other choices in the Lake Oswego area and what he threw away with poor customer service and lack or care for his customers in any way, another business owner will gain. Read moreMax the owner does beautiful nails and is a very nice person....but .....the fault in the salon lies in the efficiency of scheduling appointments and timeliness in keeping those assigned times.... my experience there was even when having an assigned time for an appointment Max seemed to be always running late by sometimes one half hour which occurred almost every time I went there except if you were the first appointment of the day.....Gave up on the salon when I made an appointment for a pedicure and fill, with someone answering the phone other than Max. Arrived there and the person had not even put the two appointments on the schedule. So after one half hour, was shuffled around to nail nail tech I had not scheduled or anticipated doing my nails....I would say for this salon their major weakness is very poor scheduling and customer service....since this is a service industry doing nails well is not the only facet in keeping customers....I have never been to another salon when having a scheduled appointment needed to sit and wait for the number of times it has occurred at this one..this salon could certainly improve on their efficiency in scheduling and timeliness in keeping assigned appointment times...If you schedule for a specific nail tech you do not expect to be shuffled around to...
Read moreI was here a few times before the final time. It had always been ok, I always felt rushed no matter if I had made an appointment or walked in to see if they had time, I always asked. I never assumed they had time and was always ok making an appointment at another time. The last time I was there I walked in and asked if I could get a full set of acrylic nails. A lady was very nice and said yes, Maybe 10 minute wait. I was very ok with this. I was called over and within 10 minutes the owner came over and started yelling at the lady, she immidiately stopped and he walked away and she just sat there for a few minutes. She was clearly upset over something. She had completely forgot about the shape I wanted and after she had shaped them she had realized it wasn't the shape I wanted. She began apologizing and I told her it was fine. I felt bad for her that she had been treated the way she had been and was so upset that she forgot what I wanted. He should have waited for a later time to confront her. This place also makes me feel that if you are not "in" with the owner than you don't get the same treatment as the people who...
