I had an extremely disappointing experience at AMC. We purchased tickets online specifically to ensure good seating for our family, especially for our seven-year-old daughter, so she would have a clear view of the screen. However, when we arrived, we were told that our selected seats in Row D were unavailable due to a leak. While I understand that issues can arise, the way this was handled was unacceptable.
The staff moved us two rows behind our original seats without any apology or effort to accommodate us for the inconvenience. The person assisting us barely looked up from the paper she was writing on and seemed indifferent. There was no acknowledgment of the disruption or inconvenience, which was very frustrating, especially since we had taken extra steps to secure good seats for our child.
To make matters worse, our movie started at 6:30, but we arrived at 5:00 as planned, only to find out we couldn’t go inside until 6:00. This left us waiting in the lobby with no seating available. We had to sit on the carpeted floor for an hour because there were no chairs or any kind of entertainment. The bar area wasn’t an option since we had a minor with us.
When we tried to get a cup of water for our daughter (who only drinks water), we were given just one cup. My husband asked for a second cup but was told there was a limit of one free cup per family. Moments later, another staff member came by and told us the rules had changed, allowing us to get two additional cups. The lack of consistency and clarity in communication was frustrating and unnecessary.
Adding to the poor experience, there was no soap in the family bathroom. This is a basic necessity that shouldn’t be overlooked, especially in such a busy venue.
Overall, this was a disappointing and uncomfortable experience. AMC needs to do better in handling customer issues, maintaining their facilities, and providing basic accommodations. A little courtesy and attention to detail go a long way, but that was completely...
Read moreMy husband and I were assaulted at AMC Ford City 14 on Tuesday, July 29th during the 9:50 PM showing of “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” Three men who had snuck into the theater were disrupting the movie, loudly talking, laughing, and walking back and forth directly in front of the screen. We complained to AMC staff, who confirmed the men had not paid for tickets. Yet, they only removed one of the three individuals and let the other two stay.
Minutes later, those men returned and threw a cup of what appeared and smelled to be bodily fluids at us from behind while we were still seated. This attack could have gone much worse. I genuinely feared for our safety, I do not want to die in a movie theater.
The manager on duty, Jordan, refused to call the police, smirked, laughed, and made insensitive comments, through our complaint, and showed zero professionalism or empathy. I have video footage of his behavior. I had to call the police myself. When officers arrived, they were stunned that individuals who had been removed were allowed to re-enter and assault us.
My husband later spoke with the general manager the next day, who was just as rude and dismissive and told us that their AMC Theatre would ONLY cooperate if we brought the police back with us.
A police report has been filed, and I will be pressing full charges once the perpetrators are identified. I will also be pursuing legal action against AMC Theatre for their gross negligence and failure to provide a safe environment.
I have contacted AMC Theatres corporate office and am awaiting a response.
This was not a minor disturbance, it was an assault. AMC Theatres failed to protect us. I urge everyone to avoid this location at all costs. There is no real security, no accountability, and no concern for customer safety. Until AMC addresses this serious failure, no one is truly safe at...
Read moreI visited this theater because it was more convenient for me upon being in the area at my internship site which is in the Ford City area. I visited it to see the movie Avengers: Endgame, a movie that many die-hard Marvel Comics lovers like myself anticipated seeing since Avengers: Infinity War. Ok, now the first time I visited AMC Ford City 14, I ended up leaving due to it being congested because it put me several minutes into the movie I visited to see which was Captain Marvel. With that, I recommend arriving early, using the ticket machine or purchasing your ticket(s) online in order to avoid the herd trickling in.
To coincide with a half-filled parking lot at Ford City Mall, AMC does have a nice sized parking lot of its own, which does get filled throughout the week. So, parking is far from an issue at this location, but bring your walking shoes in case you end up parking in the Ford City Mall lot once the AMC lot gets congested with vehicles.
I did not get the chance to purchase from the concession because of there being a long line, but I did get the chance to look around prior to entering the assigned room of my movie. The cleanliness is typical to any other theater, but I do give AMC credit because with the amount of clientele it gets, the theater looks well kept.
Once I entered, I located my seat which the alphabet letter is located along the wall and the number of the seat is located on the arm-rest. I loved the reclining chairs, even though I felt like a total geek playing with it while others where sitting relaxed. The chairs added lots of comfort and I do not even recall moving around in discomfort which most theater chairs are. With that, AMC Ford City 14 has won my heart, and I would gladly...
