Salon Glow Chicago — Attraction in Lake View Township

Stylist in training put my first foil on the weakest area of my hair. This hair in the front had already been thoroughly bleached previously and also grows in practically white cause I’m in my forties. I was disappointed with intake and how they never even look at the forms that took you 20 minutes to fill out and also the photos they ask for. Overall I got over bleached when I asked for thick chunks of brown with the blonde. Now everything is bleached blonde practically and so very dry and damaged. She recommended a dry cut at the end. I asked for good haircut and she strongly suggested a light dusting for a haircut on dry hair. I just had to go get a keratin treatment and then a 4 inch haircut because it was still so damaged. Also I wanted to have more lowlights put in as a redo because I was more blonde than I asked for. But it was during the holidays and I wasn’t able to come back within their 10 day protocol or I’d have to pay again. Not a happy customer and I won’t be back. 2 stars because the studio is nice and they have snacks and drinks. And everyone was nice but I wish they were more hands on with stylists in training as well as paying attention to intake forms. It would have avoided some confusion with what I wanted.

In response your your response. This is exactly how my hair looked 4 days after visiting your salon after one wash. So you are inaccurate on that. And I was not offered 3 weeks for a redo. I've been seeing Tara for more than three years now and am so happy to have found her as my hair guru.

I always love my experience with her for two reasons: 1) she does an amazing job with my hair and keeps it HEALTHY, 2) I enjoy and admire her as a person.

From my first visit, I felt at home with Tara and though she was a little pricier than other stylists I've gone to in the past, I did enough research to know/hope that she was worth it- and she has proven me right consistently since 2021.

The other thing that I've noticed, especially in the most recent two years, is that there is a very strong learning culture at Salon Glow. This might not seem relevant, but I personally love being around others who have a growth oriented mindset and every time I'm there, I see stylists teaching and learning from one another and it puts me in such a good mood. It's inspiring to be in that environment and it motivates me to keep being a lifelong learner.

Back to Tara- she is truly amazing. She has grown so much since I've known her and I love the way she teaches me about hair products and overall hair health without being degrading. Oftentimes in the past with other stylists, I've felt scolded and it made me so uncomfortable and feeling silly. Never with Tara- she has insane patience and empathy for others and it's a huge part of what makes her the incredible stylist+human that she is.

Salon Glow is 5/5 EVERY DAMN TIME.

I moved to Chicago from Michigan in 2016 and had a hard time finding the “right” salon that fit my needs and personality (vibe is important to me). It wasn’t until I found Salon Glow that I truly felt at home with a salon and stylist.

I started out seeing Taulbee for a few years before she moved out of state who was excellent and was then paired with Tara who also rocks my socks off. I’ve also been serviced by a few others and honestly have been impressed with every single person.

What you can expect when choosing Salon Glow:

Quality, no matter what style you’re looking for. As you can see from my pictures, I’ve done from LONG extensions to a short, bright, blonde bob. The team did (and continues to do) such an amazing job with both styles, walking me through every step of the process along the way.

VIBE. As I mentioned, this is super important to me. We spend so much time at a salon, you’ve gotta make sure it’s the vibe for you. I’ve complimented Salon Glow for this many times, but they have the best teamwork I’ve ever seen at any salon. You can TRULY feel the love and support for one another within the salon. I always leave in such a great mood because of this.

Price - yes you’re going to spend some decent $$ but you will anywhere you go that gives you true QUALITY. The price is worth the confidence I have when leaving Salon Glow.
