Big Shoulders Coffee — Restaurant in Lake View Township

After a less-than-great experience at another cafe, a quick trip to Big Shoulders Coffee completely turned my day around. I stopped in to order a takeaway brown sugar miso latte, a pastry, and a sparkling soda. From the moment I walked in, the barista greeted me warmly and took my order with care.

While packing up my pastry, the barista accidentally dropped it on the floor. Without hesitation, they went to the back to check for more, but it turned out to be the last one. They promptly refunded me for the pastry and let me choose a different one free of charge. This kind of thoughtful, customer-focused service is rare and truly stood out.

This coffee shop was so different than your run of the mill shop. The coffee there was really good, I was a bit surprised by how good it actually was. I had the Iced Horchata Latte and man the things i’d do to have that on standby every morning, it was amazing! Also had the Al Pastor breakfast burrito and honestly, it blew me away, the portion size was great and the flavor it packed was very surprising, plus the green salsa that it comes with? Delicious. I live right by this place and stop and my wife and I drop by the pickup window a lot for coffee. The coffee is good.

I went in there this morning to do some work for about 45 minutes. After sitting down for 20 minutes, an employee asked me if i wanted anything. I was right in the middle of something and told him I was OK for now. He said "we only allow customers to sit in this area".
