I was in the store on July 12th and I've generally liked this store. However there was a new sales associate working in the store that day and I found a piece of jewelry that I wanted to buy and asked her to hold the item for me, that I would be back for it. I did return to the store prior to departing Lambertville and while me and others I was with looked around in the store again as they were buying a hostess gift, this sales associate comes from behind the register and hollers my name aloud asking if I was still planning to buy the bracelet. WHAT!!!??? There were people in the store and people turned around to look at me and I felt totally bare. How dare this woman treat any customer this way, I felt a bit humiliated. I went ahead and purchased the item as I really liked it but in my heart I really didn't want to purchase it. It was an expensive piece of costume jewelry and I guess because of the price point, she wanted to be able to tell management that she made a good sale (I know I wasn't the only one shopping in the store at that time and day, but a sale is a sale). She also badgered my son about something she overheard us talking about that was none of her business and my son diplomatically told her so but even then, she kept digging trying to get an answer even telling him 'I don't know anyone that you know, I won't tell anyone.' Disgraceful! (He never gave her an answer to her question) I will not come back to the store! I did call the store to ask if I could return the item and was told that I'd only get a store credit. That's not acceptable given the circumstance but it's been over a month now and although I love the bracelet, i'll never forget the experience and how it made me feel. I can't recommend anyone to shop...
Read moreI came to lambertville on my day off to take a stroll through the town and to shop at some of the stores. I came across Foxy Reds and was very excited to check out their merchandise. When I walked in, the employed woman on the floor stared at me, while not saying a word. Shortly after, a couple arrived and I noted that she greeted them kindly and attended to their needs immediately. At this time, I did not think much of the difference in treatment, and I continued shopping. While shopping, I was speaking on the phone very quietly with a friend of mine who was having a hard time and needed support. Meanwhile, the employee was speaking to the couple very loudly. I then saw a pair of earrings I was very interested in purchasing. I began waiting for the employee to finish assisting the couple so I would be able to ask for her assistance. However, as I was waiting, she came over to me, rudely waved her hand in front of my face, and told me to take my phone call outside of the store. It was clear I was speaking softly and respectfully, therefore this treatment left me confused. I was respectful and left the area but never went back to complete my purchase. It will be a shame if this was the case, but I can’t help but feel I was discriminated against due to my race. There seems to be a pattern amongst the other reviews. This store lost a customer willing to spend $250 on a pair of beautiful earrings because of the disrespect and mistreatment I...
Read moreOK, so I see some interesting reviews on here. I recently visited this store on a day trip to Lambertsville. In all honestly, I wasn’t met with any of what’s been described. At one point, there were 5 of us, customers, and the store manager -or owner, I didn’t ask- was well, managing a very calm and polite dose of attention to each one of us, and she was alone doing it. I have to give her credit on that. What I enjoyed the most was the freedom to peruse without being followed, and help was available the moment I asked for it. I got the impression some of the customers were usual patrons on their usual stop by to check out new arrivals, and it just added to this feeling of a cool neighborhood spot. The store has a curated assortment of categories and brands, and it just smells heavenly in there. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and we all have days when we are over sensitive, I get that. I think this store carries the type of products that need time to be appreciated, some of them carrying a hefty price tag, and I paid attention to the fact that the person in charge remained at a distance allowing me to do so. Reserved? Not over talkative? Maybe. But not rude, quite the contrary, soft spoken, attentive and sharing tips and her knowledge of the products carried there. All in all, it’s a super cute store that you must stop by when visiting this...
