I rarely post any reviews, and the only reason I am doing this is because I feel that one others should know what to expect and hopefully the management of this place consider making changes to how they run things. First, I have only been to this place one other time, and at that time my husband and I dined in, this time I had to stop in Lambertville to pick up something, and because I loved my sandwich from my first time here (caprese sandwich), I was craving it again and decided I would grab one to go after my planned stop. So I placed my order at just before 2 on a Sunday afternoon, and then went to restroom and when I came back they called my called out my drink order. Then I waited....and waited. It was a beautiful Sunday so the place was busy, so I was in turn very patient...once a staff member asked me if they could help me..I told him I was waiting on a take out order, and he said ok and moved on (not oh..what are you waiting on or any other question). Again, it was busy, and I was patient, I know that food industry has a tough job, and I didn't want to be difficult, and this wasn't fast food so wait was inherent. After 30 minutes I asked another working to see how much more time for my order, when I told him I was waiting on a caprese sandwich...he looked on the back counter and there in a bag was my sandwich. From the time I returned from the restroom, which took no more than 2 minutes, to 30 min later, not once did I hear them call out for that sandwich...and there it was just sitting there being ignored (kinda like I was standing on the other side). Now, will I go back, yes bc the food is really good! But I think they really need to consider how they process/take orders (i.e they give numbers to people that are waiting...but do not do anything for those that are taking ou (not even a name, which would so help them know who an order is for). And the people that work there should be attentive to the people that are waiting, when I was asked, the answer should have resulted in, 'let me check on your order, what did you order, had he cared I would have spent 10 less minutes there and maybe could have had a warm sandwich rather than a soggy one). I hope this review helps this place make some minor changes to help improve their service and then this will be the perfect place to grab a bite..either for dine in...
Read moreMy husband picked up a salmon salad for me. As I was 8 weeks pregnant I asked him to confirm the fish is well done. The lady at the cashier, who in retrospect didn’t speak good English, said it is. He picked it up. And I ate it. The only meal I ate that day, as I was working all day long. Shortly after I got a very severe stomach ache. So server I knew something is wrong. I called my husband to ask him if it was actually well done, and he confirmed the lady at the cash register told him it is. Right after that I got an ultrasound that confirmed there is no pulse and the day after that I lost my baby. I called them to ask how the salmon is made. The first time around the lady who can’t speak English answered and basically just said “yes” to all my questions without understanding. A few days later I called again. This time a lady who does speak English picked up the phone. She explained that the salmon is not actually well done. It’s premade and is put for a very short time in the oven. You know, that information could have been very helpful to begin with!!!! I wrote to them and told them what happened. They ignored my email. We were loyal customers for years. I will never set foot in this business again. There is no love and no care. You are not allowed to serve half cocked salmon to the public and put in your front employees who don’t understand English and can’t explain it can’t be well done!!!! It took me a few weeks to process this ordeal and write this review. I am still processing. I just want to warn ppl about their food, which is not safe, not fresh and very dangerous for certain groups of ppl, especially pregnant woman. I paid a very high price for your negligence....
Read moreFounded in 1991 on Nassau Street, Princeton, this establishment began its journey as a French-inspired artisanal bakery known for its delicate and delicious pastries and elegant décor.
Just over the Pennsylvania border from New Hope, where people go for the one-off restaurants rather than the chains, it can be difficult to stand out, but Chez Alice Patisserie does just that.
Upon entering this store as first-timers, which was clean, bright, and inviting, it immediately transported us from the streets of Lambertville to a quiet corner of Paris.
The display cases were bursting with an amazing assortment of high-quality baked goods of all sorts and tastes. The baker is a French-trained pastry chef who prepares croissants, macarons, and pastries with a focus on flavor instead of relying on a ton of sugar. The only difficulty was choosing which one to have.
My partner and I decided on the Chocolate Raspberry Torte and Parisian Flan.
Everything we purchased was perfectly packaged and bagged for a safe trip back home.
The staff was friendly, especially the generosity of the one of the owners, Wayne.
We can’t wait for a return visit to dine, which we...
