Do not schedule a party here!! This is the most expensive party venue around, which we were fine with but it's worth mentioning. Our party was scheduled 5pm-8pm. I got the ok days before hand to start setting up at 2pm as we had a huge dessert bar to set up for our guests. On our way there at 1:30 we received a call that we could no longer do that. We still showed up at 2pm and had to leave everything in the office. We were informed we couldn't get in until 4:30 to set up...only 30 mins beforehand. We arrived at 4pm just in case and waited until 4:30 to transfer everything from the office to the party room. I requested pastel rainbow colors and the tablecloths were black and white, the plates were white, and the cups were clear. Only thing pastel colors were the napkins. We had to really rush to try and get everything set up before guests started to arrive, which of course we didn't. So, instead of greeting guests and having a pleasant drop off, we were frantically trying to get everything done. Multiple guests had no idea where to go as the #'s of the party rooms are on the outside of the door so when it's opened you can't see. I then saw the itinerary on the whiteboard which was never discussed with me. I was incredibly annoyed that they had scheduled the pizza and cake for 5:15...all the guests had not even arrived yet. I asked to push it back and the host Emily said they couldn't because the kitchen was closing (which I was not aware of either) So pizza came at 5:20 with a couple of guests still not there and when they arrived it was confusion as to get them a slice of pizza. Everyone was just waiting around, the host told everyone to go play in the ballocity, I requested everyone just get their cards so they could go play. The cards were never explained to the kids so most didn't know there was money on it, they didn't know it was unlimited activities etc. Emily then went mia and there was random kids in our room eating candy, which I had to ask to leave as it was a private party. A lot of the activities didn't have workers at the whole time, so there was a lot of waiting for someone to show up. We were told they ran out of wristbands and we didn't need then, but multiple workers told the kids they couldn't get into the activities without one, so an adult had to go over and explain what was told to us. When the pizza happend I said I was not doing cake then and we could do it at 7:30. 7:30 came and we did cake, which I had to take control over. At that time we were informed they close at 8, and everything gets turned off at 7:45. Again, we were never told this and were super disappointed as some kids didn't get a chance to do everything. As we were trying to clean up, literally like 6 workers came in and just started moving stuff and completely rushing us. The whole experience from start to finish was seriously sub par for the price. At the end as I was paying the girl asked me how everything was and I said awful. The manager that I had already spoke to when we first arrived was also there, and I again stated how dissatisfied we were, and said like anyone cares and that was that. Never came in the party and asked how everything was going after the rocky start, never said anything as I was leaving. I asked for the owners business card as I will be following...
Read moreI would stay away from this place. Looking at the photos, my toddler was VERY excited to go here. It did look fun.
With that said, after paying the $17 for the play area, the toddler area is exceptionally small. There is just a slide, a tunnel, and about 4 wall toys like Tic Tac Toe. Very underwhelming and disappointing.
We also chose to spend $50 on the arcade card. We spent about half of it on a crane game, because she saw a Mario plushie that she was excited about. Now, I know the crane games have logic in them to only win X number of times, but between my wife and I we tried at least 20 times. About half the time it wouldn’t grab it at all, the other half of the time it would lift about halfway up and just drop it. I fully regret thinking “maybe this next time it will work.”
Then about half of the other arcades were broken, either turned off or had signs they were out of service.
I figured I’d let the front desk know about the experience, and they did just about nothing. First he asked me “didn’t you see the signs that the arcades are not ours?” Then he was only offering to let “them” know about it. He admitted the calibration was likely off, but said he can’t do anything. He wouldn’t even say who “them” was, or offer any kind of follow up or compensation. I know it’s a common practice for small businesses to outsource their arcade operations, but this is a place that supposedly specializes in that experience. The fact that they just either did not care at all or are just willing to throw their hands up and say that it’s not their equipment and offer no assistance is just extremely disappointing.
There are plenty of other venues in the area. I highly recommend Dutch Wonderland for your kids to have fun. I really, strongly recommend against even thinking about going to Go N Bananas. See if there’s a Chuck E Cheese or something else in the area that’s more reliable and family friendly. This place is just a rip off and they don’t care.
I left frustrated and my kid left sad for not being able to get much out of the experience. She’s been saying since then that she can’t wait to just go back to Chuck E Cheese near our home instead - and I don’t...
Read moreThis place would be a 5 out of 5, but bare with me here, there are a few issues. My family have been coming to this place for years and years, since my children were babies and we live 2 hours away. We visit Go N Bananas at least once every 2 months.
We never had a problem until 2022. One weekend, like any other weekend coming here, they told us we can have our water bottles in the building. We always abide by the no food or drink in the place rule, but we bring water in the building in clear bottles, mostly because it's a pain to walk out to the car and they keep it almost 80 degrees in the place all the time.
They told us it is because we can steal drinks with our water bottles, which seems kinda silly to me, because you can buy their water bottles and still steal the fountain drinks with those also. Other than this issue, the staff is normally amazing and friendly.
The new problem is that we have been buying unlimited XD ride passes everytime we come, but now they are only for a single person. This was never communicated with me and it is frustrating to have changes made to our normally fantastic experiences here. We buy 3 passes, game time, and an unlimited xd pass every time, and if it is the case that is only for one person, then make a family xd pass because my kids can't get enough of it.
Another issue is, some of the games are not maintained and they are never changed or updated. For example, some games start button doesn't work and certain games cannot be completed because of performance issues, and this just frustrates my kids.
In all honesty, my children love this place, they are excited to come, and happy when we leave, if they can just work out some bugs, this place would be nearly perfect.
