Finally, got a chance to check out Rosa Rosa pizza and try their famous spaghetti pizza and bomber pizza. Here is my ranking on the two.
Spaghetti pizza 4/10. The pizza was loaded with spaghetti, almost too much spaghetti. Once it was picked up the spaghetti instantly started falling out, so really all you had was a plate of spaghetti and dough. The slice also lacked any taste of cheese, even though you could see cheese in it. This slice could have definitely been made better if there was a little less spaghetti, more sauce on the spaghetti, and some more cheese to help hold it all together. Was super excited to try this since I saw it go viral a couple months ago, but it just lacked in a lot of areas.
Pizza two was the Big Mac Bomber; half cheeseburger pizza, half Stromboli. This one I would give a 5/10. Again, another pizza I saw on their Instagram and was super excited to try, but was not blown away with. First off, the dough was just too thick, all you really felt like you were eating was dough. The cheese was minimal, which most of the cheese flavor was lost to the dough. The actual pizza had very little meat to it and touch lettuce and pickle which overpowered everything else. The pizza had onions on it which were just basically raw onions, both in the Stromboli part and pizza part. The Stromboli part was definitely better than the pizza part, but the beef lacked a lot of flavor. I definitely feel like this pizza could use a thinner crust, more cheese, and beef that has some more flavorings to it. Also, would love if they added a dipping sauce to it, like the Big Mac sauce or something else to complement it.
I do have to say the staff was very pleasant at Rosa Rosa, but definitely was disappointed in these top items they always post about. I may give them a try again to see if it changes, and hoping maybe some of these suggestions get...
Read moreSaw a Facebook video of some insane looking Cheesesteak Stromboli that looked like it did the fusion dance with a pizza. By the grace of happenstance and some luck, was nearby at lunch time. A Cheesesteak bomber they called it. Came with what could only be presumed to be a secret sauce recipe, because if other?! +people knew the recipe, then theyd definitely be using it, cuz it was better than any other place I can think of. I know everyone thinks their local mom and pop pizza shop has the best sauce or that you gotta go to new york or some other renowned state buy to those people, I urge you to take that preconceived notion, flush it down the drain and try this place, then come tell me how right I was.
Oh, and there's a small but diverse Gelato and ice-ceam cooler for after youve stuffed yourself to the point of adjusting your belt, that'll put your tongue's taster-tots to happy land.
So in case you haven't gotten my drift by now, the place deserves...
Read moreThe power of social media made this visit possible for us. I was looking at hashtag lancasterpa to look for things to do in preparation for our trip to the theater there. This place had posted about their spaghetti pizza - something we in NC had never dreamed was possible much less tasted. One of my sons loves Italian food and so we had to try it while we were in town. We ordered the spaghetti pizza and another thing we had never heard of “bomber pizza” with cheesesteak inside the Stromboli part. It was all tasty and the bomber was my favorite. The atmosphere is very basic. The cashier was very engaging and had excellent eye contact, explained everything thoroughly and patiently and had a mysterious accent. 😊 We will never forget our first spaghetti pizza and this gem of a place. You have...
