HEB 10-10-23 Caution: if you are looking to buy tamales at the deli look at them twice. Tamales are being served dry, hard to chew, and not fresh. HEB seems to insist that they be sold like that regardless (maybe because they are not being sold at HEB by plantation, I ask). What a shame! All neighborhoods in the community deserve to be served the best --- especially children and the elderly. Correction: it might be the lead cook's insistence to serve dried tamales, Not HEB!!! Because till now HEB leads with high and above standards. HEB O1-27-23 Dear HEB POLITE WORKER, Thank you very much for going above and beyond to help your customers. You make a difference. I enjoy going to HEB not only to buy things I need but because its atmosphere makes me feel happy. Congratulations! You understand that being in the service industry is continually becoming an EXTREME CHALLENGE; most customers today have Great Expectations, and sometimes seem too demanding. GREAT! You aren't afraid to help customers with high expectations--- what an opportunity to continue sharpening your SERVICE SKILLS; skills that could take anyone above and beyond--- in any career! KEEP-UP THE CHALLENGE! Remain being one who is made of the right-stuff, and keep representing HEB well. Thank you HEB for continuing to make a difference in the community in many ways.
WARNING! HEB, at it's supervisory level, has some supervisors who are supportive of bad manners. If you complain about rudeness or poor customer service often, you might eventually become apologetic instead because you'll find poor service in most of their departments. A good sense of responsibility and good judgment is lacking in management's approach in solving customer's concerns and complaints. Either, due to lack of training, or supervisory indifference, some HEB employees and supervisors have the confidence to be disrespectful. What happens in each of their stores is much reflective of the store manager's values. Dear HEB when we come to your store you understand that we are not there to interupt you, to bother you, or to get your products for free---but some managers seem to have a different perspective. We, customers pay happily for what we need. I'M NOT THERE TO VISIT A KING OR QUEEN WHO IS UNHAPPY TO BE OF SERVICE TO CUSTOMERS. BY the way, THANK YOU HEB, you are still very special and dear to US for doing much for the community in different ways, yet some of your employees are not up to REPRESENTING you, but instead are up to representing their...
Read moreOverall excellent store : (1) the food and other merchandise – excellent selection, quality and price; (2) the people -- friendly and skilled; (3) the building -- clean and well lit; (4) the shelves-- well placed, spaced and arranged (with a few support poles in way);
Negative comments about policy and practice with regard to COVID-19: (1) This is major. Store policy prohibited the use of reusable cloth bags -– new plastic bags only. It made no sense to be concerned about close contact with cloth bags when the cashier touched many, many merchandise items which had been in contact with the stocker and buyer and possibly other shoppers. Store policy introduced a plague of plastic with very harmful environmental and economic effects. Reusable bags pose little threat. COVID-19 is spread by human-to-human transmission via respiratory droplets, not by exposure to reusable cloth bags. (2) To facilitate social distance of six feet, the store placed red footprints in the checkout lines. Unfortunately, a few footprints placed the shopper in the walkway perpendicular to the checkout line thus blocking cross traffic. Most shoppers approaching a cashier habitually block cross traffic. The store should not promote this. It seems that only the military in commissaries have for decades known how – and been courteous enough – to keep walkways clear. The commissary checkout line extends back into the edge of a merchandise aisle if necessary. Beno curving “lines”, blocking cross traffic, or cutting in line. Pleasant note: at H-E-B the other day, an employee acted promptly but courteously to prevent a shopper from cutting in line – kudos. (3) Many items out of stock, most importantly face masks. H-E-B should have caught up by the time I shopped a few days ago. Beno hoarding by shoppers. (4) Here's a laugh: The public address system constantly carried guidance to include the following gem:“Instead of touching someone, just give them a smile,” How can one see a smile behind a face mask? That suggestion reduced the credibility of the entire announcement.
Thank you 35 and Calton H-E-B employees for your essential service –...
Read moreI love HEB, and I had not had a problem until last week. I have a service dog and she had her tags on but this older lady who was standing at the door said her tags were not enough, and I must show her certified papers with a picture of my dog, and I said, "Lady those papers are important documents, like a birth certificate, which I do not carry with me. So then what? Are you not going to let me come in? She's got her tags on." And she said no you cannot come in with that animal. I was ready to flip on her, but all I did was say, "watch me." Then she said I'm going to call the manager. So I replied by saying, "Call him because if he is educated in service animals he will let you know that you asking for my papers is illegal and denying my dog and I entry to the store calls for a lawsuit against you and HEB. So call him please." She then started yelling I don't know what as I walked away and followed me around the store getting all the employees and customers to look at me and embarrassed me. I was in there for some fruit and sugar and left as quick as I could forgetting a bunch of other things I wanted to get. Oh! And as I was walking towards the cash registers, this man wearing an HEB button up black shirt came charging at me and clapped in my dog's face... Was that a test? What was he trying to do? Freak out my dog to prove she's not in service? That's dangerous for him and everyone around us, these ignorant people are lucky that I have the best trained dog in the world and she acted calm, cool, and collected. Not all the employees here are ignorant but it takes one bad apple to ruin the bunch. I'm avoiding this HEB as much as possible. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HAVE A...
