My husband was entering the lobby behind a lady and as he was about to put his mask on, a young female employee from behind the desk stated:"Sir, put your mask on! If we see you without it on at any time, you will be told to leave without reimbursement. Then he heard the lady in front of him ask if there was coffee available, to which the employee replied "not in your room!" in a sarcastic tone. Once we got into our room, we noticed that the carpet had not been vacuumed and there was a dirty sock laying next to the bed. There was also a bunch of hair all around the back of the toilet. You could tell it hardly ever got cleaned back there. I was willing to let that go and just live with it and didn't even plan on reporting it, but today as we were leaving, I had my suitcase in one hand and my dog in the other and as I left my room, totally forgot to put my mask on. I am always very respectful and wear them in public, but forgot to because I was also struggling with not being able to lock our room ( the deadbolt was stuck out so I couldn't get the door to shut) because I was leaving some additional things in there I needed to come back up and get. As my husband and I got on the elevator there was an elderly gentleman in there who sternly said ma'am put your mask on. To which I replied oh yes I'm so sorry I totally forgot I will put it on right now, which I did. then, visibly irritated, he looked at my husband and told him to pull it up over his nose. My husband then replied, we don't appreciate being mask shamed and you don't have to act like you are the Covid police. The man then shouted he was the manager of the hotel. During the discussion he could obviously see that our hands were filled with items and a dog each on a leash. He was obviously trying to pick a fight. As we were leaving the building, he said you'll never be allowed to stay here again, to which my husband replied no big loss there. In conclusion, if you're looking for a dirty room and a rude staff, then Laredo Red Roof Inn is the...
Read moreRed Rood Laredo was a huge disappointment, if I could give it ZERO stars, I would. With many years in the hospitality industry, the poor level of customer service and lack of quality of the rooms and amenities is nowhere near what is advertised on their website or pictures. My family and I stayed one night for the location, but we regretted it instantly! As I walked in to check in, the front desk didn't bother to greet, welcome or say hello and had a very hostile attitude. We arrived 20 minutes before check in, which is at 3pm and asked if it would be possible to check in and before she even checked the system to see if she had anything available- she instantly said she didn't have any clean rooms and until 3pm. I asked her to confirm my reservations and told her we'd be back at 3pm. She said ok, we'll have rooms then... We returned at 3:15pm and there was a new front desk associate, whom also did not bother to greet or welcome us as we walked in. He too had a terrible attitude and as we were checking in didn't bother to explain an additional $1.50 fee or what we were initialing, since it was our first time staying at a Red Roof. His computer froze and kept going from one computer to the next, all while he had a line of about 5 others waiting to be helped and never once bothered to apologize for the wait. He gave us our room keys and didn't ask if we needed help locating our room. The check in process was extremely awkward and long. When we entered our rooms, the smell of cigarette smoke mixed with air freshener was intense! The hall carpets were super dirty with stains as well as the room carpet. The AC unit had a low and high fan setting, but not much of a difference. The bathrooms are pretty small with no hair dryers or extra roll of tissue paper. All in all we did not enjoy our stay and will never ever consider Red Roof again. I'm sure there are great locations elsewhere, but the lack of customer service from the front desk associates and property itself we will...
Read moreI initially booked 3 rooms online on 6/8/2019. I mistakenly indicated that my check in date would be on 6/8. My actual check in date was 6/9. About 2 hours after making the incorrect reservation, I realized my mistake. The hotel would not provide a refund. This just stinks of poor customer service.
When I stayed at the hotel, it was a good value for the price. So, I have no complaints about price.
The front desk staff was nice, but the check in process was way too slow.
I had 3 rooms, each reserved and paid for 3 days. After the first night, all 3 key cards quit working. It seems that they were programmed incorrectly. And, the rear door to the hotel lobby does not work without a keycard. Having to walk all the way around the hotel to get the keycard fixed, after working 14 hours, was quite frustrating.
The room was fine. However, the maids used some kind of over-perfumed cleaner or fragrance in the room. When returning to the room at the end of the day, I had to keep the door open to let the room air out before I could enter. The chemical fumes were overwhelming.
There were bugs in the room. They sort of looked like June bugs, but they walked pretty fast. I stepped on two of them one morning as I was leaving. The maid picked up the dead bugs, but did not mop up the bug guts on the floor. The next day, a dead bug was laying in the bathroom. I left it for the maid to pick up. Which she did. She put it in the toilet, but did not flush.
I'm guessing that the low price attracts a loud crowd. It was difficult to sleep with all of the noise from other guests and motorcycles...
