If you're looking for something different to eat in Laredo, this is the perfect place. The menu is pretty extensive, they have a good variety of options to choose, they also have some vegan and vegetarian options although it's mainly appetizers but it's good that they're offering some options for these dietary restrictions. We got the edamames with the Special Surfing Crab sauce which is made of cajun seasoning, garlic and butter, they were very very good and also the portion was huge compared to other places where Edamames are served as appetizer. To eat we got the Half Half fried basket, which you can choose among different items, we decided to go for the Jumbo Shrimps and Flounder fish (if you choose this one there's an extra charge of $1) and it comes with Cajun fries and a couple of sauces/dressings that were extremely good, one was a sort of ranch but it tasted slightly different, and the other one was kinda ketchup but mixed with pickled radish. Additionally we got the Boiled Laredo special basket, it came with sausages, a couple of corns on the cob, a lobster tail, crab legs and shrimps, although there are also other options to choose like oysters, catfish, etc... Also what O liked about this place is that you get to choose the sauce and the level of spiciness, we decided to go wild for the Fire level (which was the spiciest one), which I highly recommend if you like spicy food, otherwise you can choose a Lower level so you can still enjoy the complex flavors of all the seasonings. For the crab legs the give you some tools to crack them, otherwise it's a bit messy to do it, in our case the waitress forgot to bring us that but we nicely asked for them and she was more than happy to get us what we needed. Additionally they give you a sort of bib so you don't mess up your clothes. Another good thing worth to mention is that soft beverages (such as soda or tea) is refillable. Prices are accessible. The service was amazing, the waitress was very happy to give us some recommendations since it was out very first time going there and also she was very attentive, from time to time she would ask if we would need anything else. Definitely we'll come back, loved the...
Read moreWent to a bday gathering ended up with food poisoning! 6 members of family got extremely sick! Called restaurant to request a full refund. Spoke to a mia and flat out refused to help out! Unacceptable! Will be filing complaint with local health agency and dispute with bank’…….
Replying to your reply and don’t see the reason for your lies! Provide the proof of any refunds! We have never asked for any refunds or demands of any refunds or for food to be remade! On a seperate occasion we complained about the taste and u personally brought out more garlic to add. On another occasion we complained about the server not attending us because he had half the restaurant to attend yet u have a forced service charge added to bill! If u going to force add a service charge then make sure the server is attending the table!!! We left the restaurant at closing time. We got sick around midnight and all day Monday thru early Tuesday with what seems like food poisoning! We did not go to the hospital and never claimed we did! I called today Tuesday after feeling better to adress my concerns and you immediately got defensive claiming u have insurance and investigation will take place. So that’s fine. I have dispute the charge thru my bank and tomorrow will file complaint with health services! Plus don’t worry we will not visit your establishment again! You are more concerned for a dollar than for your customers well being! And again no need for your lies! We have never asked for a refund nor have you ever...
Read moreI came in at 8 on a Wednesday. Since it was close to closing (10pm), there weren't many people. Service was polite but slow considering the number of people that were there. I got the seafood boil daily special which consists of a 1/2 lbs of snow crab, 1/2 lbs of shrimp (head off), 1/2 lbs of crawfish with corn, sausage and potaoes for about $30, and an appetizer of raw oysters and edamame with the surfing special seasoing (definitely the highlight of the evening). It was my first time eating oysters, crawfish, and a seafood boil in general.
It was a messy but fun experience. You'll need gloves, a bibe, and utensils for sure. All of which they provide. For seasoning, I got the surfing special that combines all their seasonings together. It was good, but it had so much butter. If you're worried about the cholesterol, then I would suggest you hold off on the butter, but it was delicious. Oysters weren't bad either.
Everything on the menu, besides the boils, was reasonably priced, but boils are usually a bit expensive in general.
If you haven't had crawfish, I would recommend getting one off of someone's else's plate to try it. It had a similar texture to shrimp, but it wasn't as flavorful. The amount of effort to open those suckers up wasn't worth it, in my opinion, but if you enjoy eating sunflower seeds, then you shouldn't mind.
It was a good experience with good food and will definitely...
