*EDITED * Saddens me to leave this because I so badly wanted this place to remain great. Decided to buy a fresh pack ($100) before taking the leap and purchasing a family pack ($400+). Happy we did because the fresh pack was not so fresh. The sizzlers steak was exposed to air so long it turned hard and see through. It takes a long time for steak to get like that. Also had sour ground beef and country ribs that were bad not only once but twice because the replacement ribs were also bad and had to be thrown out. They made it right and replaced the meat however he replaced it with even worse pork that was turning green. Yeah when it's fresh the meat is good but I guess when you buy a pack you get all of the old stuff about to get thrown out. Butcher, Mike, told me the other day he couldn't fulfill the pack because everything was cut except a couple things he needed for that specific order. So i placed the order to pick up the next day. Then I was told when I took the bad food back that everything is cut to order, every order so not quite sure which one it is but regardless the meat was sour. Mike also told me the meat was not bad and the smell was a normal pork smell However he didn't think it smelled. Guess you guys saved me from buying a massive amount of bad meat from you. Thank you! Needless to say we'll be taking our business elsewhere.
Love this place! Been back several times. Consistent quality. No vaccines or hormones in the meat, you can taste the difference, it's real. Pre-ordered my Amish Thanksgiving turkey and it was the best we've ever had.
Now for customer service??? They are so awesome. It was 15 minutes before close with 3 other customers in line. They were out of ground chuck. Butcher said if you give me 5 minutes I will grind you some or price match with the sirloin. There's no way I would make someone grind right before close so I accepted the sirloin. Read morePurchased 2 new you strip steaks ($38.20) last night (8/14/25) bought them home to prep for the grill. I noticed the bottom that was against the tray it had been sitting in on was kind of grey. Ok i get it, it happens. Then I noticed a sour, rancid smell, thought maybe old blood. So I rinsed them and the smell was still there. I repackaged them and called he store this morning first thing The guys said bring them back I'll look at them. So after work I take them back When I tell you this man was the rudest person I have ever encountered I am speaking the truth! He said I don't smell anything, there's nothing wrong with these steaks. I said they're turning brown. He stated that happens when they are touching. He said I cut these steaks myself, I asked when he stated Tuesday. Then said I've been cutting meat my whole life, to which I responded I've been cooking meat longer that you have been alive and i dont eat meat that smells rotten! I asked so you aren't going to replace them or give me a refund and he said NO HAVE A GOOD DAY! Also he has this long red beard or goatee, no hair net net on it which I believe is a health violation, probably the stink that's in the entire store is as well. Maybe I should look into that too! All I wanted was either the meat replaced or a refund. So much for customer service. I will never step foot in his store again and I suggest anyone that does asks to smell the whatever they are buying before purchase. $38 and change wasted on what I thought would be a better quality steak than what you get at the big stores. Me and my fiancé used to buy Ryan’s family packs religiously and at first they were the best - they were the only place we would purchase our proteins at, with amazing quality and somewhat decent pricing. A bit over a year ago, from my understanding, they had issues with some employees who did customers wrong, and I was one of them. I got old spoiled pork, meat that wasn’t rotated in the cases , meats swapped out for lesser expensive cuts. They didn’t even deny this, and would reluctantly remedy every single one of our family packs when I would bring it back, and it got old having to be persistent everytime I got a family pack. For instance, I had packages of what was supposed to be filet and t bone be literally swapped out with ground beef.
Recently, they got their original manager back - from when the store did well, and I came into the store to give them another try. But unfortunately, an apology just isnt going to cut stealing money from me and my family.
