I have never been to an establishment that doesn't at least warm a croissant before serving it.
I've been going to this place for 6 years. I usually get bagels or donuts. Today they served me a croissant that had a solid black burn mark on the top, but it wasnt warm?I sent it back. They give me another, and it's still cold.
I ask them, why is the "hot sandwich" so cold?
"We can't toast the croissants."
"....what? Then why did the first one have a burn mark?"
"I don't know."
They did try to make it right but this place has really, really gone downhill in the 6 years I've lived in this neighborhood. It was once the best quick breakfast spot on Indian Rocks Road but the economy has really done a number on many businesses - and this one just seems disproportionately affected compared to the other locations for St. Pete Bagel. Whoever manages this place is not taking care of it. I don't think its asking a lot to warm a croissant for an $8 breakfast sandwich.
Beyond the food:
The bathroom light is very dim, the door knob to the bathroom is off kilter, the sink sprays everywhere and the paper towel dispenser has been broken a long time. Prices have gone up but the environment and the food quality has gone way down and basic maintenance in the shop hasn't been performed in quite some time. It's very sad to see our favorite breakfast joint fall from grace.
Service staff is very sweet for the most part. I think they did want to make it right - but if I ever go there again, I will stick to...
Read moreFirst let me say I love st Pete bagel bagels are amazing and coffee is fantastic. I come to this location once or twice a week the workers here are never nice all they want to do is talk to each other and don't actually pay attention to what they are doing. I just had an interaction with the manager Lai and I made my order one bagel with cream cheese and a soda I go to hand her my debt card and she rudely says we don't take these for less than 5.00$ and I tell her I use this all the time and always get the same thing the only difference is sometimes I get a coffee well she then still very rudely keeps saying that she is the manager and she would never allow it and who ever took my card is not supposed to and I say ok and proceed to order another bagel just to get over that 5.00 rule. I hand her my card again and she says "you never said it was a debt card, debt cards are like cash and the rule does not apply to debt cards" it says right on the card it's a debt card and why is she yelling at me for not telling her it's a debt card!! From a manager to a company you need to work on your employees because she doesn't talk right to people as if the whole thing was my fault for having a debt card, this will keep me from coming to this location for a while, and from st Pete bagel for a...
Read moreWow, what a wonderful little gem close to the beach. Had a flat tire and was cruising the shops next door to Goodyear for breakfast while we waited and my son saw "donuts" so we decided to check it out. We live in the neighborhood and never knew it was here! Both of us were very impressed - the entire shop was full of people on a Friday morning at 8:30am, so I imagine that they are quite busy on weekends. Donuts are great, huge variety of bagels, smoothies, coffee. They dont salt, pepper, sugar, or otherwise season anything but give you salt and pepper packets in the bag which is pretty great. Very fast service, unique atmosphere, and the priced are not very much more than a Dunkin or Starbucks and the quality is far superior. There isn't a lot of seating available because they do enforce social distancing - so if you plan on dining in to check out their extensive menu, arrive early! Wonderful place, we found our new favorite...
