If you scroll down a bit, you’ll see a review w/ 20+ thumbs-ups suggesting a class-action lawsuit. I am 100% on-board. I’m shocked that this quality of service is legally allowed. I’m not sure if they have like, three people working the call-center or if they’re all moving like the sloth from zootopia or what? I’m seasonal. I work outside at the pools all spring/summer and take winter off. I’ve been actively calling the 702-486-0350 number since the first week of November. Out of ALL THE TIMES I’ve called, I was only able to get through to one person. I’ve showed up at this office and the security guard told me that there’s “no such thing as an unemployment office” and that “people only show up here to use their landlines, to try and get ahold of someone.” I swear to god lol. I’m like, “so just to have the opportunity to talk to someone on the phone, I have to get in my car & drive to this spot, just to use YOUR phone instead of my own, to speak to a human? To maybe get my problem resolved?” He said yes, irony completely going over his head. To make matters worse, there wasn’t even anyone there lol there was a random paper-sign on the door saying they took the day off for training?? Training who? The nonexistent employees who never answer the phone? lol this feels like an actual gag. There’s also no way to even have your call returned, either. Their website says that their “MIGHT” be a chance to get in the virtual-line and you MIGHT be given an opportunity for a call-back, but trust me. There isn’t. There hasn’t been for over a month because I’ve been checking. I just hope whoever is in charge is really taking this seriously because people’s livelihoods are on the line. & karma is very real.

Having to deal with DETR is excrutiatingly painful. Contact the Gov's office in Nevada to let him know what jacked up is the system handling unemployment. This garbage can't be real... Perhaps he is unaware of the mess now,....!! Who wants to spend hours on the phone with 0% success rate of communicating?

Had my application done Nov 15th, then received needed to answer 1 question online. Completed the Question before dead line. Have sent 5 emails and 5 fax to DETR.... no response to either. on phone everyday for someone to answer. ... and they get paid for this???

If you walk-in, they do get to you quickly, even if there's a line. Then I was called to the next step before I was even finished signing in - and that's just your name and date! The call center had me on hold for a short while, much shorter than expected considering the trouble I'd had at home simply getting through. The man I spoke to, Tony, was very understanding and helpful. The three stars are because if you lose your job, then you apply for unemployment, the government then contacts ALL of the employers you've worked for in several years! Slightly embarrassing. Then, if your most recent employer lasted less than 17 weeks (if you're an entertainer &/or work as an independent contractor, they almost all last less than that), they contactyou're SECOND to last employer, and it was explained to me today that THEY have to pay part of your unemployment out of their own pocket!!! So thanks to this process, entertainers are likely to never get booked again by the most recent company who gave them a gig, because now the government is breathing down their necks to continue paying you for a one-day commercial or gig. So instead of helping you buffer the transition between gigs, this programis effectively burning bridges with employers to distance themselves from a liability of an employee who is now more expensive than they need to be. Or you can commit fraud by not reporting that you worked for them, just to keep them from being liable and contacted... But the department is clear that you do not get to choose who pays you, even if one job ended unfairly and the rat were upstanding and possibly going to continue to be a productive relationship without this added, unnecessary gov't meddling. They force you to report ALL employers, and then suddenly they have all the time in the world to be on the phone harassing them for their money. This whole process is a cluster of inefficiency, and has counter-productive practices to the goal and purpose that they should hold above all: To help contributing members of society get from job to job honestly and fairly, without adding new obstacles to their struggle. I'd say "write your congressman," but I don't have much faith that they'll listen to citizens anymore. I'm sure it's what they ultimately want, but my advice is not to even apply for unemployment unless you've worked for only ONE employer and they treated you unfairly, and you truly need financial assistance to get to your next opportunity. You shouldn't be put in danger of ruining your reputation with employers who are still hiring you. It's simply not designed to help independent...

I was told if I didn't file for 4 consecutive weeks or had 4 consecutive weeks that I filed but made in excess of my benefits, my claim would deactivate. You then would have to file to reactivate ur claim on a weekday, at latest during the week u expect to be eligible for benefits or else u would be denied benefits for that week. Following this guideline seemed to work as they said until at some point last yearyi went to file a claim for weekly benefits after having 3 consecutive ineligible weeks only to find my claim had deactivated. I called for days and finally got thru to a rep that claimed that it might be deactivated after 3 OR 4 weeks of not filing or making too much. I didn't check to see if my claim had deactivated during the 4th week because I was initially told that wouldn't happen until after 4 consecutive weeks and therefore they denied me benefits for that week saying that I didn't understand how it works!! Rolling over to my new claim which opened on January 26th 2018. Because of past inconsistencies with info from reps, I have made a point to go onto the UI site on a weekday, usually Friday of the week I expect to qualify for benefits to insure they hadn't deactivated my claim. I logged on this past Friday, Feb 9th to verify my claim was open and still activated. It was and I took a screen shot to prove to the rrps, that treat me like I'm lyinh, just to prove my case. Then came today , Sunday... I didn't have any work for the week ending Saturday March 10th so I logged on shortly after the clock flipped into Sunday only to find my claim had deactivated between Friday, when it was still actice, and Sunday, where it now said DEACTIVATED... That deactivation occurred after ONLY 2 CONSECUTIVE WEEKS OF filing due to making too much during those two consecutive weeks. THIS IS TOTALLY ABSURD, WRONG, AND UNACCEPTABLE. I am being denied valid claims for UI benefits due to a combination of system inconsistencies and representatives that misinformed me several times as to how it's supposed to work... And as many know, trying to call and get thru to someone on the phone is next to impossible. So, instead of me taking time to look for wirk, I'm spending my time battling with UI reps over my valid claims which I followed guidelines to the tee. What a bad joke!! Keeping my money and blaming me incorrectly even though I follow there directions. THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW HIW AND WHY IT WORKS THE WAY ITS HAPPENING!!!!

WHAT A BAD JOKE!!. .

STAY AWAY FROM DETR AT ALL COSTS

I wish I could give zero stars.

I have tried to get Detr for years to help me. They are absolutely useless. They don't care if you need work now, they will drag out their rehabilitation workshops to several months to a year or more. I had one workshop and the next one wasn't happening for 3 months. We were supposed to make our state profile by the next workshop and we did but the next workshop was literally about making your state profile as if the previous workshop never happened. We went over making a profile 3 times in different workshops that took months. We were not moving forward whatsoever, it was a time waster. One person in our workshop even asked if there is any way to speed up the process of getting work and they got told "No."

I had an appointment with my counselor, Felicia Dorsey, and she never showed up and cancelled all of our future appointments. All the stuff I was supposed to give her to move forward was cancelled too. I emailed her to get an explanation as to why this happened and I never got a response back. I was completely dropped without any reason.

Stay far, far away from DETR. They don't help people, they waste your time. I wasted months and months with them that I can't get back. Save yourself the trouble and find another agency that is much better.

POST REVIEW:

So now that I have left this review, NOW they email me to set up appointments. Steven Icamen who put me over to another counselor suddenly comes back and asks if there's anything he can do like he didn't move to another department. Then Felicia contacts me with appointments all set up.

No thanks. You guys don't know what you're doing and I'm done with you. Yeah, now that I made a review, now all of you are contacting me to help?

I'm not deleting this review. You guys can't get back into my good graces now. I know it's about saving yourselves.

Don't bother working with Felicia Dorsey or Steven Icamen.

DO NOT WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE....
