About two weeks ago there was an issue with my daughters prescription. So I call Nevada mental health and try to resolve the issue. My daughter has not seen her provider via tele-health visit for a few months due to her Dr being on a extended leave of absence. I am not leaving a bad review for the Dr not being available, we really hope she is well. My one star review is for the response of the personnel when trying to get renew my daughters prescription. To make this (unnecessary) long story short, multiple phone calls almost daily to the office where I was assured the issue was being taken care of. I was told that the requests were sent to the medical assistant (multiple times) and then sent to Dr Jeider (multiple times). My daughter was very low on medication so I was scrambling to make this work. We are working with a psychologist and making great progress, if we run out of medication it could be devastating to all of our hard work and progress. Then it happened, my daughter ran out of medication before the doctor submitted the prescription. We have already decided to move to another provider at this point but of course we can’t be seen right away by the new provider. So I still called daily to the office pleading if they could refill the prescription as we wait to be seen by our new doctor. Finally after running out of medicine this week and explaining we were moving my daughter to another practice, her prescription was filled. If you go to the Nevada mental health website, they have posted that Dr. Jeider is a “top doctor 2020.” How can one of the top child psychiatrist in the area not even fill a prescription in a timely manner? To be honest I was not even given an excuse or a reason for the delay. The receptionist only told me, “I wish I had an update”, or “I wish I had something to tell you.” This was just the straw that broke the camels back. We have had many issues with scheduling and billing. The most recent example, I received a bill in the mail that was a “second notice,” but it was the first one I received. Not only that it was billed to my daughter (a minor). I have received bills after paying in full, (no insurance), so there’s not even an excuse of an “insurance mix up.” As far as scheduling goes we’ve had to change our appointments almost immediately after making them all the way up to just days before something coming up.
Dr Jeider might be an incredible Dr. but, the service surrounding him falls well short of acceptable. I hope they make some changes and get things right and I really hope no one goes...
Read moreI am incredibly disappointed my the way Dr. O handled my bridge visit. I normally see a different psychiatrist here, but was having a bad reaction to the medication my original psychiatrist had given me. I asked if I could have a sooner appointment with my normal psychiatrist, but there were none available.
The front desk team offered me a sooner appointment with Dr. O. When I saw Dr. O, he told me that I should go to the ER for my problems (extreme anxiety, depression, nonstop crying). I asked him “there’s nothing that you can do before the point of sending me to the ER?” I just wanted to know if I could go off or decrease the medication that my regular psychiatrist increased that I believe initiated my problem. Dr. O said no, and he asked why I should believe him that he shouldn’t send me to the ER. He eventually told me that I can take another medication I’ve been previously prescribed as needed. This time he recommends THREE times a day. I confirmed with him that it is OK to take this medication along with another one (benzo) prescribed by my original psychiatrist that’s already in my system. My original psychiatrist told me to never take these two medications together. Dr. O said it shouldn’t be an issue.
I took ONE dose of this medication and I was sleeping for over 24 hours. This is such terrible medical practice. During our appointment, I told him I missed our first appointment an hour earlier (slept through the alarm) in the day because I had already taken so many sedatives to try and calm down before yet he proceeds to give me more sedatives. I will never go to Dr. O again or recommend him to anybody. I would rather sit in my own suffering than have him...
Read moreI was referred to Nevada Mental Health by my children’s ABA service provider, and I could not be more grateful for the experience we’ve had here. From the very first phone call, the process was seamless, they scheduled an appointment right away and provided online links so I could complete all forms comfortably from home. Communication has been excellent; the staff responds promptly and makes sure everything is prepared in advance, which made the actual appointments stress-free and efficient.
Both of my children were seen by Dr. Goodson, and I was truly impressed by the level of care and compassion he provided. He took the time to carefully listen to my concerns, asked thoughtful questions, and made sure I felt heard and supported. He went above and beyond by preparing a formal letter to help us obtain specialized equipment for my children, something that will make a real difference in their daily lives.
I’ve visited several clinics in the past, but this has been by far the best experience. The staff and doctor made me feel that my family’s needs truly mattered, and I left feeling reassured and supported. For parents of children with autism and ADHD, finding a clinic that cares this much is invaluable. I highly recommend Nevada Mental Health to any family seeking compassionate, professional, and thorough mental health...
