I've eaten here before about twice. On the 3rd visit, I brought my mom for dinner at this restaurant. The person had seated us and never gave the menu and no one came to ask to start off with a drink(s). Later, a couple came in and was also seated. We waited very long for a server to get our orders, but the people that they have seated had menus. After a longer wait of our food, these had finished eating and paid their bill. Man, I was furious! I kept my composure with my anger...later, I asked for a to-go box and the lady asked "how many?" I looked at her and she obviously saw our table of left overs were worth 1 plate. So one box. She doesn't make that executive decision of how many? I have to be the one to tell her? No one came to our table to give us the bill. We had to get up and pay in the counter, while the guy was looking at me that there was no tip added in the receipt and table. Lastly, the food back then was super good until that night we ate there. Like my late father used to say, it's not the food of how it's prepared or restaurant. It's the cooks who make em. I'm never dining here anymore. I felt embarrassed taking my mom there after I was boasting of how good the restaurant was. They proved us wrongly of our...

My boyfriend and I took my parents out to dinner there and it was awful from the minute we got there. I made a reservation for 7:30 but they failed to tell me that they closed at 8....Really? 30 minutes? That was a bummer considering that we didn't even have a table ready for us when we got there. The younger female server was so rude. She literally threw the chopsticks on the table, she gave us 1 menu for 4 of us and then waited almost 10 minutes to take our order. She walked by several times and my boyfriend kept motioning her to come to our table and she straight up ignored us. The service was terrible. After being on a stay in place order and FINALLY getting to go sit down for a meal, it was disappointing, not to mention they have been closed and out of work too, you would think that she would've given better service to make some money, but she didn't. The hostess was nice enough to ask the kitchen to stay open a little later, so they get points for that, the food is excellent as well but the server needs a lesson in customer service. They have lost a loyal customer because of...

My kids and I have been in the hunt for a great AYCE sushi establishment since our usual go-to place has closed. We decided to try out Sushi 88 for dinner. We arrived around 4pm and were promptly seated. We mulled over the menu and our hostess Nova, took our order. Apparently, Nova was having either have a bad day or she has a medical condition that causes her to roll her eyes and sigh when being asked questions. If it were not for the quality of the food, this place would get 1 star. Every question about a menu item resulted in a sour puss face and an eye roll followed by a sigh. As we ate, Nova constantly kept glancing over at our table and it wasn’t to check if we needed anything. It was to make sure that we weren’t sharing AYCE with anyone else at the table that hadn’t ordered AYCE. Thank you Nova for your concern but I’m an adult and I follow rules as do my kids. Do yourself a favor and call ahead to find out if Nova is working and if...

We were told we could sit where we wanted when we came in. Nice clean interior, not overly decorated or anything. Most everything was exceptionally good. Little things like the miso soup having green onions, a green salsa served with the tempura calamari, even the green muscles tasted better than they looked, and they looked great! I did get one gristly piece of garlic tuna and the baked yum yum scallop was mostly rice. But, overall, everything else was very good to excellent. Service is very fast via tablets used by the servers. The nigiri was good and fresh, but with a little bit more rice than I am accustomed to getting. Their house special 88 roll was very good! We didn't know the dynamite roll was deep fried. So, a warning ... all of the rolls with red lettering near the bottom are deep fried. And, that roll had way too much batter on it for us to eat.

Opted for the "buy 2 get 1 free specialty roll" deal, and ordered a couple appetizers as well. Unfortunately, my order of *Gyoza was completely forgotten, as well as the roll I ordered. After they had brought out my partners 2 rolls, our waitress didn't check in with us again so I wasn't able to ask her about my food. Once they realized and addressed it, I just asked for my roll to go because my partner was already almost finished eating. I was a little surprised when they gave us the bill because they still charged us for everything, and didn't try to make up for the mistake (we received a short but genuine apology). Overall, a very disappointing experience and I doubt we will go back again. *Just to clarify after the owners response - I never received the gyoza. So I'm not sure of why they mention removing it from my bill as if it was a favor.

I had a late lunch/ early dinner on Saturday evening. I was able to beat the dinner rush. Nothing beats the VALUE of this restaurant. Since my husband like to order a la carte, I was happy to see that they had sushi rolls on offer: buy 2 get one free. And we had two glasses of one: they were buy one get one free. We both had a fabulous dinner with a couple of leftovers and the bill was $38. Heck yes. The service was so friendly and prompt, and I liked the food a lot. I don’t live close to this area, but I would come down here just for the great deal and the fact that the staff is so cool.
