MOMMA GOT CHECKED!! BOO-YAMy husband and I were perusing the shelves when we heard a mother and her son entering the store. She was telling him "now don't touch anything". The employee looked from behind the counter and said something like "Come on in, it's a comic book store. You can touch everything!Priceless! I couldn't see his face from where I was standing, but I bet that kid was beaming!I clearly see why Sheldon and the guys hang out in the comic bookstore. It is such an engaging environment because everywhere you look, there is something interesting. There are tons of books, cool (You won't see these at Target), games and even action figures. We were just overwhelmed and didn't know where to look first. During this visit, we just did a cursory view in an effort to try and get the lay of the land.We will definitely come back later when we are able to spend more time exploring the inventory and can actually purchase something. These are the types of really cool businesses that you really want to support because they are rare and hold great memories for those who grew up with these stores as part of their neighborhood landscape. This store was very clean and super organized with staff ready to...
Read moreHonestly, I don't even know where to begin with the amazing experience that I had at both locations. But started at the lawrenceville store. It has been twenty years since I bought a comic nor looked at all the comics & comic cards I have from the 90s and was wanting to get caught up on things so I called & the owner Kyle was so helpful and patient as I asked to be quite honest, a bunch of questions..lol. We were on the phone for over an hr. The following Tuesday I made it to the store & everything about my experience from how clean & well maintained to the amazing customer service experience was top tier in my book. I was looking for X-MEN: AGE OF REVELATION #0 (2025 ShadowDrop Variant) & Kyle without any hesitation was on it making phones calls & before I left three hrs latter he found it at his other store & today I picked it up. So if your looking to get back into things or find your LCS I highly recommend any of his two locations. Don't take my word for it & go see for yourself. Now I'm just waiting for Oct. 1st when X-Men: The Age of...
Read moreFor many years I have spent money here. I had a subscription for a couple of years, but the employees would cause damage to my comic books while bag and boarding. I complained several times to no avail and finally canceled my subscription. They do bag and board all their comics, which is nice. The problem is the perpetual rudeness. I wrote it off as bad days the first 5 times or so, but it is always present. There have been numerous occasions where I start to go in, see who is working and decide to just keep walking past. I can't speak for the owner, but it is totally lost on the employees that it is patronage paying their salaries. Having said that, you can get some good 1/2 price back issues. I do prefer physically seeing a comic, rather than buying online; however, don't waste your time with any old key or variants. They are well overpriced and non negotiable. I have truly been in the store for the last time , because it is just not a joyful place to shop and search for that missing book in...
