This is the second time I have tried Scrumdiddlyumptious. The first time wasn’t a great experience and I’m sad to say the second time was worst. My husband and I decided to have an impromptu lunch date. We were driving by and noticed that they were not that busy so I decided to give them another chance. The first time I ate there they had only been open a few weeks and it was so chaotic. I thought I would give them another chance. Well we were greeted and seated immediately. We waited a few minutes for our waitress to get our drink order. She came over and got our drink order but she didn’t introduce her self but I got her name off the receipt which was Taja. She left and we waited a few more minutes for our drinks( water w/lemon and orange juice). She came back with our drinks but didn’t take our order. Now the restaurant wasn’t busy but she kept disappearing. I ask another waitress if she could get her for us. She finally came over and took our order. My husband ordered the cornmeal pancakes and a side of pork sausage and I ordered the spicy stuffed biscuit w/ sausage and gravy. We waited and waited for maybe another 15 minutes before we got our food. My husband got his pancakes but no sausage and was told by Taja that she would get it for him. We later found out that they had to cook them. I ask for the gravy on the side and it looked wonderful but the biscuit looked a too brown on top. When I went to cut the biscuit I couldn’t cut it with my knife, so I pick it up and it was burnt to a crisp. I looked around and our waitress had disappeared again. I ask the other waitress if she could get her for us. She finally came over and I showed her the brunt biscuit. She took away and ask if I wanted something else or the same thing. I asked her how long would it take she said about 7 minutes or so. I told her that was fine and my husband ask her for some more syrup for his pancakes and he was still waiting for his sausage. He finally got his sausage which was very small considering they were charging $5.99 for the side. She offered me a drink for the inconvenience and I got a mango punch that was horrible. We waited another 15 minutes and I still haven’t gotten my replacement biscuit and my husband haven’t gotten his syrup for his pancakes. Since our waitress Taja was MIA we asked another waitress to get us the check and we waited another 10 minutes or so before Taja came with the check and what I think was my food boxed up. At this point I didn’t want it. I had sat and watch several people who came in after me eating their food and I couldn’t get mine and my husband couldn’t even get syrup to finished his meal. She took the food back to adjust the check which I couldn’t believe she was going to charge us. I came to this restaurant for a dining experience not takeout and spending my whole lunch break with no food. I don’t know who the manager was but this was not a great experience. I will not be back. I know some people would say the third time is the charm but I can’t take that chance especially when you are hungry and you leave the restaurant a hour...

I originally booked a reservation for 10 people--went smoothly. I called the day before the reservation to update the number to 15 people--went smoothly. We showed up and had a couple more people than we intended but the restaurant accommodated us with class and professionalism during their busiest time of the morning. (Insane, right? We're so grateful.)
We were served water right away and given time to look at the menu. (Perfect amount of time, too. We weren't waiting too long or begging for 5 more minutes.) I'm pretty frugal so I was concerned about the prices in the beginning, but when the food comes out, you can clearly see that you've got a good end of the stick! The portion sizes are nice and almost everyone (who didn't stuff themselves to capacity) had something in the doggie bag for later.
COMPLIMENTS TO THE CHEF, OWNERS, AND STAFF!!! "You go girl!" (says my mom). There were ZERO complaints about the food (for over 15 picky women, that's impressive!) Everyone raved about the perfectly seasoned grits, the delicious chicken, the beautiful textures, and the flavor in every single dish. EVERYTHING HERE IS GOOD!! Specifically, I ordered the carrot cake waffle with chicken wings and eggs. My mom ordered french toast, eggs, and grits. Other orders ranged from the acai bowl to a southwestern style quasadilla. Everything was excellent!
Now, let's break down my plate: When I say the chiken was good, I mean good! The batter was delectible, fried to perfection (crunchy skin but hot, juicy meat falling off the bone). The honey drizzle was the perfect compliment on top of my waffle. I LOVE CARROT CAKE and this waffle did not disappoint. It was perfectly crunchy on the outside and wonderfully soft into the bite. The eggs were cooked "chefs choice" and I'm so grateful I did. They came perfectly scrambled. Not too hard, not too soft.
We ran into a small snag when we found out how the payment works for large groups but management came through and handled that with so much tact, and professionalism. We were so grateful.
Thanks so much to Asia (like the continent) for putting up with such a loud and picky crew. She was so graceful, kind, and accommodating. Asia anticipated our needs and was gracious toward every request! When she wasn't sure, she wasn't afraid to find out the answer. She showed professionalism from the moment she greeted our table until the last person left. She was really busy with us and her other tables, but she didn't let us see her sweat! She gave us her best, answered about a million questions with much patience, and she made us feel welcomed. Thank you, Asia! You're the real MVP!
The young lady at the front desk was kind and pleasant, too, but I don't remember her name. I'm sorry!! But you were wonderful! We thank you!
Overall, we LOVED our experience here and...
Read moreI recently dined at Scrum-did-dly-ump-tious and unfortunately had a highly unsatisfactory experience.
We had a 3 party reservation for 1:30 PM on a Sunday. When we arrived there was a line out the door, however we were promptly greeted & we waited a few minutes for a table. (The lady that greeted us was frantically pleasant and during our visit, I noticed she was running around busting her butt for sure.)
The only table available was outside, which wasn’t what we were expecting but I didn’t want to wait for a table inside and it was ridiculously loud anyway, so I figured by sitting outside we’d be able to escape the loud music… Nope, the only outdoor table available was right next to a speaker, so it was still uncomfortably loud.
Upon sitting down, we were given a drink menu and scanned a barcode for the food menu. After placing our order, 40 minutes passed and the appetizers hadn’t arrived. We cancelled them and continued to wait for the main courses, which literally took an hour from when we were seated to arrive.
When the food came, we still had no silverware and the waitress had been back twice for a water refill. Upon requesting some again, we were told there was none available and they are working on a solution.
After a prolonged wait, we were given visibly scuffed and possibly unclean gold-plated silverware. You go from not having any silverware, nor plastic ware to bringing us that.
What’s wild is that, all this time had passed and our server seated other tables without utensils, so she knew they didn’t have any. The lack of communication was evident when we had to inquire about silverware again after she walked away when the food was brought out, what were we supposed to eat with?
We decided to not use the utensils they gave us and waited for her to return so we could pay. It was about 7 mins before she came back around and within that timeframe, two of us tried our shrimp and they were both undercooked. At this point we were beyond annoyed and disgusted. We requested to pay immediately. My mom was so upset that she even dropped the food she was going to attempt to air fry when she got home.
Additionally, the entertainment fee per person seemed unwarranted. The music would be cool for a different time, like in the evening, which I saw on their IG page but it seems to be their thing at anytime so know what you’re walking into. It was not a chill relaxing vibe, especially for a Sunday.
There is a lot they need to address for the benefit of...
