I have been going to Boulder Creek for over ten years, dating back to the original location. I have stopped going because the iced drinks aren't as good as they used to be. Their food and hot drinks are excellent but I drink iced coffee about 99% of the time. As others have observed, the cold brew is very diluted. A small amount of cream turns it nearly white and undrinkable. I also think that the beans being used for the cold brew are some of Counter Culture's lower cost beans, instead of the more premium options that were previously used that were outstanding. I saw this because the bean packages match those that I've seen in grocery stores and not the more premium beans that I believe you can only get from the supplier. I suspect that's why the hot coffee tastes better since those are still single origin and not the generic bean blends. The iced shakers used to be their staple iced drink that was a fan favorite but it's not what it used to be. It was a fan favorite but they changed the way they make it a few years ago. You can order it the original way but it's not quite as good as it used to be for some reason. Overall, $6 for average to below average iced coffee isn't a value proposition that I'll be buying. Their iced coffee used to be the best you could get anywhere and I will quickly return to being a frequently customer if they return to their former quality.

The staff are typically excellent and very friendly. I have to agree with some other reviewers that it does appear at times that attention is drawn away from customers to talk to each other or friends sitting at the bar. I think when this happens, that's what leads to some of the reviewers on here becoming less understanding on the wait times. Outside of these situations, I think the complaints of the wait times are unfair. This is a coffee shop that is more built for drinking coffee there and enjoying the atmosphere as opposed to grabbing your coffee on the run quickly.

You will not find a better atmosphere than Boulder Creek. It's a beautiful old home with lots of seating, a huge porch, and lawn seating. As great as the atmosphere and baristas are, the most important thing to me is the quality of the iced coffee. I love this coffee shop and desperately want to return to being a frequent customer, but the quality of the iced coffee needs to return to it's...

The house and the sitting area is absolutely gorgeous, that's the reason for the four star. My husband drinks decaf coffee and they only have one kind which is the pour over and it is weak. He is used to a decaf Americano or just a decaf strong or bold coffee on tap. I ordered a regular pour over and it had a very sour flavor that I did not like. When you dine in, the avocado toast is delicious. I would like to see them serve coffee in porcelain cups, for those who dine in and use actual silverware. When you get bagels to go, they put them in giant plastic boxes, with cream cheese in big plastic cups and put all of that in a big plastic bag and it was way too bulky for the car. I would suggest that they get the wax paper envelopes, like Starbucks/Einstein, and throw the toasted Bagel in there. That way you can crinkle it up and throw it away in car trash very easily and it is more recyclable and earth-friendly, which you'd expect from a name like Boulder Creek. You can also slip the silverware inside that bag if needed, like the knife for spreading. Also offer to spread the cream cheese and butter for to go'ers so they don't even have to worry about that in car. Lose all the plastic containers and bags and just have a simple paper flat bag. Also when we ordered our coffee to go they ran out of sleeves or didn't have them and they double stacked the paper cup which was still hot so they had to triple stack it. This all seems like a waste of cheap products. For the prices that they charge for coffee, especially the $7 one, they need to beef up their materials and compete with Starbucks & their drive through. Also you cannot drive through here although it looks like a drive-thru because there's a sign that says that. You have to place your order ahead on the app. So maybe change the sign to say "pick up orders". However, on the app the decaf coffee is only dine-in, you you can't get this pre-ordered? Weird. Or maybe it's because they don't have it ready to go on tap. Lots of people love the flavor of coffee but cannot have the caffeine. We went twice, because of the house, but Starbucks or Starbucks drive-thru will always be my go-to from now on. We might dine in again but the plastic cutlery & paper...

The look of this place is amazing. This was a place I really wanted to put on my website. The atmosphere is really nice and makes you want to come here with a book and order tea and a muffin. But after being amazed about the look and atmosphere it went down hill after that quickly.

When I got to the counter I wasn't sure who was suppose to help me because the barista was chatting to a customer which is fine. But the person at the register was just staring at me I wasn't greeted at all. When the other customer left he turned to the barista and just talked to her.

I told him it was first time here and he said welcome. An introduction of this place would be nice to hear about. I saw the same awkward moment happen with 5 customers.I sat at the bar to see if this happens to every customer and it did. The staff talk more to each other than their customers.

I ordered a breakfast burrito. Watching how my food was handled I was shocked. The guy did where gloves but he was touching everything that wasn't my food and then put my burrito together. He handed my food to me with zero enthusiasm as if he was interrupted doing something other than his job.

When it came out it was a nice presentation, the burrito was on point and my sweet tea was really good. But the beans and rice that came with my food was not all the way cooked. It tasted like it came from a box. The salsa was from a jar. I really couldn't eat all of it.I saw a customer order avocado, egg, bacon on toast but they were complaining saying it taste like store bought guacamole.

I have read a lot of reviews and I see the same comments about some of the food and definitely the customer service. It looks like you are rating high because the look of this place, your beverages and pastries. Which is fine if you want to get by. But I bet this place could be a hit on all the improvements that...

Fabulous place to dine, get coffee and get work done! I’ve been coming to this place for over five years since it was at the Mall of Georgia location and I must say they have definitely improved the location. It has a really nice feel to it! I think the house was built in the late 1890s if I remember correctly and has a very vintage feel to it. The staff is always open and friendly (please see photos), they love what they do, and you’re not treated like a number, sadly the experience most of the time at Starbucks. The baristas know their stuff and are trained well. The place is almost always packed and many many many regulars are there on a regular basis. (No pun intended). You go long enough, the place feels like home! You can’t get that feeling at your local Starbucks. The coffee is always a cut above most of the other independent coffee shops as well. Everyone has their own preferences but to me, there really is no comparison (I personally recommend the vanilla latte) and the menu is also very eclectic and extensive. They have a grilled chicken parmesan marinara sandwich they referred to as The Godfather and it is unbeatable! Better marinara sauce than any legitimate Italian restaurants that I’ve been to and that’s saying something! Even better food than Panera bread and American deli! (More of a variety as well.) Perhaps even better than that is their Friday night entertainment. Local artists such as Rebecka Moreno among many others got their start at this very place! This coffee shop is not the number one coffee shop in Gwinnett for nothing!

I’ll be honest, I first heard of this place in the form of a recommendation from a true crime YouTuber. As I was driving home from meeting with a friend in Conyers, I decided to swing by and give it a try. I was initially impressed with the setting of the coffeehouse being set in a historical home in downtown Lawrenceville right next to Buford Dr. and offering indoor/outdoor seating. I decided to get the 12 oz pour over brew and the avocado toast based upon recommendations on GoogleMaps. The coffee was quite rich and smooth without it being too strong in the caffeine department and the avocado toast was very savory and delicious being topped off with bacon and a fried egg. I was able to enjoy sitting outside watching the cars wiz on by while observing others play cornhole on the side. Overall it was a satisfying experience and I definitely know where to go for coffee when in Lawrenceville.

Stopped in with family after an outing and thought it was neat they had a drive thru option. We ordered inside to go and received great customer service. They were definitely busy so I appreciated Alexa answering all of my questions 😅 I loved the open concept and seeing the drinks being made. I ordered an iced latte with caramel and vanilla and almond milk (pics were pre swirl lol) and although it could’ve been sweeter I enjoyed it. I gave 4 stars because they didn’t have cold foam or whipped cream. My boyfriend and cousin both ordered the Creek Breeze drinks (tea, refresher style drinks) that were a 10/10. Both drinks pictured are their smallest size (12 oz.). The space is welcoming and they have free wifi. I saw groups of people chatting and individuals working and it was more spacious than expected (we didn’t even climb the stairs)!
