Delightful authentic pizzeria with some other interesting menu options. Maggazino delle pizza certainly offers authentic and very flavorful pizzas that you can’t find nearby for many miles. It also has some options not regularly found in authentic pizza restaurants such as French fries, empanadas, mozzarella sticks, and even breakfast pizza. The pricing and portion size are about the same as other authentic pizzerias. It has a modern interior with ample space for your dining experience. It even has a bar section where you can try any of their many specialty alcoholic drinks. Though I did not get a chance to try their gelato, I will definitely be trying some next time. It is absolutely a must go if you are craving some pizza in downtown Lawrenceville! You can’t find many pizzerias like this. I can’t wait to come back and try some of their other pizzas and menu items! Keep in mind that they have other pizzas and menu options not included in the normal menu, so be sure to try and look out for new options!
Calzone Quattro Formaggio 5/5- Very well done and very cheesy/gooey. As can be seen by my picture and of all the others, these come out with a well-done crust made by an authentic wood fired oven. My favorite aspect was this well-done crust that added the perfect contrast to the gooey cheese inside. Although really delicious as authentic as it is, it could do better with at least 1 type of meat inside as well. Though I did not see it as an option on the menu to add any toppings, I did not ask, as most authentic Italian pizza restaurants won’t allow adding toppings. Regardless, it was quite flavorful and paired well with the marinara sauce, though you will definitely have to ask for more sauce. It’s as scrumptious as a 4-cheese calzone can be.
Breakfast Pizza 4/5- Not the most common type of pizza but it was still good, and I enjoyed it. It was an interesting mix of ingredients and not like the one you can buy at a gas station. It had fried eggs, ham, and French fries. My only problem with it was that the fries, being already fried/cooked, got burned or really dry by the end of the cooking process. Being exposed to high temperature in a wood fired oven, it was easier for this to happen. The crust was well-done and the rest of the pizza was tasty. Although not bad, I would recommend getting an Italian...
Read moreThis restaurant confuses me. Its an "authentic neapolitan" pizza place that also serves empanadas. WHAT? The building and inside are fantastic yet paper plates and plasticware. HUH? I hope this is temporary. I realize this was a soft opening and we will try again in a few months. For 2 people our order was Amanti Della Carne $22 (which includes pepperoni, salami, sausage) and an Italian salad $8. Pros: The building and inside/patio have been well thought out. You can tell they are very concerned about the atmosphere/vibe. We received our order quickly. They are located in downtown Lawrenceville near the square. Love the idea of the pizza ovens. Super sturdy to go box (full size box for 2 leftover slices)
Cons: The taste of the pizza was nothing special. Nothing set it apart from the other pizza establishment already in downtown. Getting the salad delivered to our table in a small plastic bowl with a lid was a little off putting. It says these are premade and not fresh even though that might not be true. The worst part was it was pretty small and it cost $8. Yes it includes nice olives and I think it also had ricotta. Not worth the cost. Steer clear of that one.
It might be helpful to add an "order here" sign at the counter because we weren't real sure if we would be seated at first. Once we received our pizza, we had to go ask for a box. We had to refill our waters ourselves. Had I been asked my thoughts about my visit I would have offered my input while I was there. I had high expectations but I was very disappointed. We eat on the square frequently and was looking forward to another option. However, it almost seems like the food was an after thought compared to the improvements to the building and what you see from the outside. Like I said I was confused, is this a fast food pizza place or is this a place to gather and enjoy...
Read moreI always enjoy exploring new local pizza spots, and this one did not disappoint. The restaurant's layout is spacious and inviting, creating a comfortable dining atmosphere. Upon entering, it wasn't immediately obvious where to stand to be seated, but my family quickly figured out that you need to place your order first before finding a table. The menu is conveniently displayed near the register, illuminated by a nice light, making it easy to read and decide what to get.
Our food arrived quickly, and we were pleased with the timing. We started with the mango habanero wings, which were generously coated in a flavorful sauce that was evenly distributed. For the pizza, we opted for the Amanti della Carne, which features a hearty combination of sausage, salami, and pepperoni. We added bacon as well, and decided to split the pizza into two halves—one side with salami and the other with bacon. The pizza is served in one size, which is 8 slices, but the portions are quite satisfying.
The ingredients were fresh, and the pizza was cooked perfectly—crispy on the outside while maintaining a great balance of flavors. We’re already looking forward to...
