I'll try my best to not make this to lengthy. I had an appt Sat. Oct. 21 to have my alarm uninstalled from my vehicle. After the appt., when I got home, I reached down to pop the hood on the car. When doing so, I saw that there were parts exposed that shouldn't have been. So, I called the store to share with them my discovery. The employee expressed to me that he doesn't see how that is possible. While I had the worker on the phone, I attempted to pop my trunk as well, to my surprise that didn't open either. I live in Baytown so the drive back to League City wasn't a plan for me seeing how I just came from there. Luckily, they recently opened a store here in Baytown, and I still had time to get over there before they closed. Once I got there, employees there asked me to pull around that back so they could see what was going on. They immediately saw the problem and had to pull the bottom part of my dashboard apart to fix it. They did just that and got me out of there. So, once I returned home again, I started going thru the box that my uninstalled alarm system was placed in and noticed not everything was there. The next day Sun. Oct. 22 I placed a call to the League City location to inquire about it. I was told that the installer noticed it and had it in his box (In my mind I'm wondering why no one called me after this was discovered). I was also told that it would be taken to the Baytown location the following day Mon. Oct. 23. I wait until Tues., went to the local Car Tunes shop and asked if the part was there. They didn't know anything about the part in question and called the League City location. I was then handed the phone and was told that the installer was out Mon. and Tues., and they would ship it out Wed. I asked if they could just mail it to my home address so I would not have to keep interrupting the local Baytown shop. He agreed and said that he would. So, I wait until Fri. Oct. 27 to follow up and see if the part was shipped. And you guessed it, it was still there in League City. Once I called, I found out the installer didn't come back until Thurs. So now I'm super frustrated because now I feel like I'm being handled. I receive a call Sat. Oct. 28 from the League City location to let me know that the part was in the mail. So here it is Thursday Nov. 2 and still no part. I called this morning to get a tracking number, now I'm waiting for the return phone call with that. This is going on 2 weeks for something that should have been taken care of once the installer noticed that he made a fumble. This is too many things gone wrong in once visit.
Update: I left the previous issue that I had with Car Tunes up for a reason. Here it goes. So, since then I was contacted by Mr. Pedro. He expressed his heartfelt concern on the way that I felt about the whole ordeal. After contacting me, I informed him that the part still hadnât arrived. Mr. Pedro apologized and verified the part was on the way; even had a staff member drive to Baytown with the part to make sure that I received it. Then he reached out to me again to make sure that it was delivered, and wanted to square things up with me. He offered to do what was necessary to make sure that I knew that it was a mistake, was noticed and not ignored. So we agreed on what could restore my business with Car Tunes, and like a man of his word. Mr. Pedro stood and delivered. Thank you for showing great customer service, and heartfelt...
Read moreWe went here to buy a car radio, speaker, amp, sub and tint. The first thing that went wrong was that we specifically told them not to tint the back window and to make the 2 front windows lighter than 5%. The salesman even took us out to his truck to show the difference in the front and back windows. Thatâs exactly what we wanted, however when they were done the tint was 5% on ALL the windows and they also didnât listen and tinted the back window. They also took down my new paper buyers tag in the window and had ripped it apart but they helped me tape it back together which is cool. When we went back the salesman acted like he was doing a favor by fixing the 5% tint on the front windows and acted like he didnât remember the conversation or showing me the tint on his truck. Secondly, the amp box was sticking halfway out under the backseat and they said it would not stick out. When we took the car back for them to fix it, they took 2 1/2 hours and i believe itâs because they put me to the side because another customer came in and his vehicle wasnât ready. So they gave him $25 off for the trouble and i believe put him in front of me even though we were waiting there first. Also i didnât receive any money back or a discount even though they didnât do these things correctly so i had to go back. When i went back, i questioned how much longer and was told they had removed the back seat, in order to add wire. They didnât tighten the back seat when they put it back so it squeaks like crazy. I SPECIFICALLY told them if they take anything out put it back right, because i drive out of town long distances and canât stand to hear squeaking and rattling. Now i have to pay someone else to fix it because i had to leave town to go back to work. I ALSO, had to pay an extra $140 for a new speaker box to go under the seat. They also said they would set the radio for the DVD to play in drive. It doesnât even play while I am in park much less drive. It doesnât work at all. Now i have to pay to get that fixed too along with the back seat. So this is costing me more money and i already spent a ton with them to get all this done. Good things i can say are overall the service wasnât rude, and they fixed everything the second time around, with the exception of the back seat not being tightened and the dvd player that i noticed didnât work at all after i went back out of town. The sound system sounds great and Iâm happy with it. They were out of the speakers i ordered so they even upgraded the speakers for me at no charge. I appreciated that. Theres 2 reasons Iâm giving 1 star. The first reason is because iâm currently stuck with a LOUD squeaky back seat thatâs loose, and i was EXTREMELY adamant that if anything was taken apart for it to be put back together correctly to avoid rattling and squeaking. Also 1 star for the money i now have to spend to get the dvd player fixed to...
Read moreThis review is not to bash the business but just a point of view and my experience. I hope this helps other consumers/customers be aware. I went in for a quote to get an audio overhaul of my vehicle. I told them what I specifically wanted and they also made some suggestions. We came to an agreement and scheduled an appointment. I even took it in a day early so they'd have plenty of time given the turn around time was 2 days. Turned into 7 days actually. Now.. I've been doing custom car audio for 15+ yrs on the side and had a little shop at one point. So here is the nitty gritty. So I get the call that my truck is ready and I go pick it up. I walk to the bay with the installer. We sit and listen to some music and well to say the least sounds good. I noticed that the boxes in my back seat are different from what I was quoted. I specifically said i wanted specific brand of equipment and thats what i got quoted. Something like $3K for the whole thing minus the custom box i had and the subs i purchased and took to them. I wanted Rockford Fosgate Mono amp for subs and Memphis for mids and highs. In addition to their suggestion i got the Kenwood oversized doors speakers. Im not knocking the brand but what i got was Pioneer mono block amp and Pioneer 4 channel with JL audio Fix 86 for factory integration. Just for prospective JL is pricy and so are the kenwood speakers but, the amps together a little over $400.00. Rockford as I originally agreed on is $400 on its own. Ill stop there. So to cut it short... I was quoted the pricier amps but got the cheaper ones installed. Ok. Cool. I used the Acima finance because i could. all together the initial agreed upon quote was exactly $2889.00. But with cheaper equipment it was $2954.00. Now I'm no mathematician but.. well you get the picture. So just be aware. You don't always get what you pay for and you probably wont get a courtesy call to let you know they will swap out equipment either. Im not bitter about it. I'll take the L because it was essentially my fault. The main reason why i started doing custom car audio myself was due to shops charging high prices for mediocre service. Oh and the Fix 86 was not grounded properly so i have engine noise and hiss when i liten to music. ill fix it. They told me to turn my levels down but in kno0w better. All in all.. Car...
