Great atmosphere with shade, water fountains for dogs, seating, dog wash area, large 25+lb dog area, decent small dog area, parking, nearby mostly shaded trail, and more.
If you're read this far...and this is going to be your first time with your dog at a dog park...please bring them and trust them to have better dog behavior than you thought possible. Monitor, don't get too nervous, let others know "yup, first timer" and you'll have automatic allies for your dog, and you. If you also have small children who are not used to dog parks along with the first-timer dog, please bring them separately to catch the vibe of the place. I only say this since I recently observed a woman show up with her dog and 2 small children, and though she did well informing us that it was her dog's first time at a dog park...it was apparent it was also her children's. They were small and squealing while moving away rapidly "look at that dog!", creating a potential play situation...even though the child had a look of a slight amount of fear. Meanwhile, mom was managing the dog she couldn't find herself to trust..and her attention was split. It's now after the fact that I realized that this would be my number one advice for newbs. This isn't to pick on her, it's actually just something that I realized could have not been done and made a much better visit for her and her family. My number 2...hardy har..is to pick up your dog's...
Read moreI'd much rather appreciate this park a ton more if there were not aggressive dogs here that for one, jump up into a person's face, then proceed to bite at my dog's neck, and grab onto of her collar with their teeth. Then the owner does NOTHING. I mean absolutely nothing to stop it. So I have to go grab my dog and leave. My dogs have never been aggressive towards anyone or any dog. My dog laid on the ground on her back to even submit - and yet the dog kept going for her neck. Her dog even tried to follow us as we left....so I had to pick up 60 lb dog up and carry her out. It's funny to realize it wasn't even a typical breed that was aggressive either. The breeds that were there that tend to be aggressive were the sweetest damn dogs. It is obviously an owner who does not train/socialize her dog properly. Also barking at everyone... Not acceptable dog part etiquette. Funny I had the SAME issue last time with the SAME bad owner/dog. Something...
Read moreThis dog park is very nice and has a lot of friendly dogs and people. There are two areas, one for dogs under 25 pounds and another for larger dogs. Both areas have things for the dogs to play on and run around. There are watering stations and fire hydrant misters to keep your dogs cool. There is a double gate area for entering the park to make sure your dogs don't get let loose. There is also a washing area near the entrance so you can spray your dog off if they get muddy while playing in the park. The large dog area also has a gate in the back that leads to exercise trails that run all through the surrounding neighborhood. Our first trip here was a great experience and we plan on taking the dogs here a...
