The docent staff lady was real nice. We arrived on a day that apparently was scheduled for a meeting day but the lady decided to let us in and gave us a tour since we don't live in the area. She permitted us, hubby and I, to sit in the desks using the slate and type of chalk to write with. She offered the ink but I didn't want to do it. I've done it before. She also went over the Barber shop, fire station, and walked is through the museum. It was nice of her and we appreciate it. She was dressed in the time...

This by far in all my travels with the Marine Corps was the best immersion reenactment experience of my life. My kids loved it! Mrs. Gill was over the top awesome. Very friendly and worked with our homeschooling group to make this a memorable experience. It was on bucket list for Houston and I am so blessed that we got to check this one off! Thank you for make this a living field trip...
