Update: pros and cons I have returned a number of times now and service has been better. I’ve avoided closing time with a two hour buffer, so not sure how they are doing on that front. The food is such a treat and I still enjoy the atmosphere. I also like that it is pet friendly. I haven’t found a savory coffee that I like though and I get an undercurrent of annoyance from staff when I ask questions about the coffee or ingredients. The location is prime. ——————————————————————— I’ve enjoyed coming here with its historic ties and find it fun to see the new developments in atmosphere each time I’m in. I’ve invited the book club I’m in to meet here the last two months. Last month we were asked to leave before closing, I assumed I had misunderstood the closing time. This month I checked their website ahead of time to be sure we would have enough time for discussion. Yet again we were approached and asked to leave. This time it was at 5:07 (we’d arrived at about 4:30). The young lady told us they close early some times if it’s slow. With a shrug she added, “We’re just trying to make money.” We’d all bought drinks and I had purchased a baked good as well. Six people left because of the early close. Our book club, 3 people, ended up sitting and sweating🫠 at the park-table out front. The young ladies closed up and left at 5:46. On top of these experiences, at the register the ladies aren’t rude, but they’re never really friendly. This has been enough to make me plan to try one of the many other coffee places in town (highly recommend Java Owl for atmosphere, quality options, and service; Starbucks right down the road has very friendly service and are quick to pleasantly accommodate drink preferences, they even give out free samples sometimes; The art of coffee in Kema is adorable and worth a visit; and there are a bunch of other ones I haven’t tried like black rock and summer moon and Dutch Brothers and on...
Read moreI stopped by Soulfreak Railroad Cafe in League City and it was a really cool experience. It is a cute little spot with a friendly staff and an old school vibe that makes you feel right at home. I ordered the Spring Latte with oat milk which is their lavender and honey latte. It was really good. The oat milk they use is thicker than what I am used to so it made the drink extra creamy in the best way. The flavors blended really well and it was the perfect balance of floral and sweet without being overpowering.
The environment at Soulfreak is really chill and relaxed. It has that kind of atmosphere where you just want to slow down and enjoy your drink. On a beautiful day like today it is exactly the kind of spot you want to hang out at.
You can tell a lot of love goes into the place from the way it is set up to the way the staff treats you. It definitely feels like a hidden gem. I will for sure be coming back and trying more of their drinks and maybe hanging out a little...

then the drinks we ordered a regular chai and a caramel-less macchiato (my choice HAHA) they were both very tasty the chai especially tasted very different than what I’ve had but in the best way.
