I've been going to Bubbleology since it opened. When Mochinut opened we started going there as well, so our usual trip is to Mochinut for milk tea and donuts then we stop at Bubbleology for fruit tea as well. Last weekend we made our usual trip. My tea from Mochinut is in a bag, not open, so I head to the counter at Bubbleology and order my fruit tea. I wait at the end of the counter and when I get my fruit tea the associate says "by the way in the future you aren't allowed to bring other Boba in here". I've seen the sign on the door that says "no other Boba allowed" however I assumed that meant you can't come into Bubbleology and sit at a table drinking mochinut Boba. I'm sure they had an issue with this when Mochinut opened. I get that, but a customer with Boba in a bag not sitting and drinking who came in and made a trip into Bubbleology to make a purchase?! That's just ridiculous to me. So this weekend I didn't stop at Bubbleology. That's just not a good way to treat customers especially ones that are going to both...
Read moreTLDR: Unauthentic "boba tea". One of the worst drink experiences I've had, which prompted me to write this review.
Against my better judgment of being open-minded, I should've known I was in for a bad experience when there were no Asian employees or customers (I'm Asian, and iykyk when it comes to authentic Asian food/drink).
Pros: Cashier was friendly. I was healthier as a result of throwing away the drink. Cons; I ordered the most basic drink (plain Assam milk tea with boba) and they still got it wrong...very wrong. Milk tea was flavorless, watery, undersweetened, chalky liquid..a sorry excuse for milk tea. Boba was an acceptable texture but poorly integrated with the tea.
The employees have no clue how to mix drinks. The "mixing" was pouring of pre-concocted, flawed mix of low-quality ingredients. So when you start with crap, you get crap.
In sum, just don't come here for anything remotely related to boba tea, or a good drink experience in general. It's an insult to the boba tea franchise, as well as...
Read moreBoba here is yummy. I love Assam or Jasmine iced tea with those chewy tapioca pearls. Many other flavors to choose from also. Have some suggestions for better service: the card reader system here is annoying as the customer has to press a number of buttons for the transaction. I think using a Square terminal or other is a simple swipe or insert card without having the customer press unnecessary amount of buttons. Also not sure if they take tip for their workers which may make them happier? Also the noise level due to the shake machines here is loud and hard to hear. May not be able to do anything for this but those who want to have convos may want to sit outside after they get their drink. Love the completely closed lids and being able to insert the boba straws by yourself. I don’t like the cashier display of the various flavors of boba as it looks messy. Probably could save counter space if those...
