After several years shopping at Wegmans, I found out their customer services are the same as other profit hungry grocery stores. I bought supposedly a large high quality bottle of vitamin C while ago from Wegmans in Leesburg Virginia where we normally shop a minimum of approximately $500 per week.(Large family) So after while the Vitamin C’s pills discoloration happened from real white to a very dark yellow. So when I was returning it, the clerk at customer services said we cannot take it back because you used a lot of it and you don’t have a receipt so she checked with manager on the phone and explaining “he doesn’t have receipt and the product is mostly used and we shouldn’t refund him”, but the manager allowed store credit then the clerk responded to me (in a very impolite manner like I’m doing this regularly) my manager said next time You bring something to return we would not accept it. It was like insulting and treating someone who is in the business of cheating stores for refunds. So I told the clerk I don’t need your refund and you can trash the remainder of the Vitamins and tell your manager this is not the way you treat any customer. So I think after all these years of Wegmans retail history When it comes to customer services, they have long way to go and a lot to learn. It take $100’s or $1000’s to advertise and gain a customer but Wegmans lost one today over a $30 refund which this return could be a feedback about the Vitamins brand...
Read moreI suspect that this is not Wegman's fault but as others have mentioned, parking is way more painful than usual compared to other Wegmans locations. The one in Dulles is not the best but you have several options to exit. This location forces almost everyone to funnel to merge with regular traffic from all the other stores in the area. The one near Short Pump (near Richmond) is fantastic by comparison.
This particular Wegmans is a strange arrangement and organization for their items. For some reason, they keep some classes/categories of items in two different locations far apart. They are also not organized like most Wegmans are from an overall perspective, causing me to take a lot longer to shop and find stuff. It is almost as if they found a new way to force shoppers to explore and be tempted by things that shoppers did not intend to purchase.
The organization is just too chaotic for my liking.
I get it that many grocery stores like to keep eggs and milk and bread way in the back and spread out so that you will see other things and want to buy them as you walk through the store but this location takes it to a whole new level and not just with eggs/milk/bread.
The quality of the pizza is also inconsistent and is not as good overall when compared to the Dulles location. Maybe it is the staff? Maybe it is their training? I don't know.
The last time I went to this store, they didn't didn't have auto-checkout. Please install...
Read moreI work here. Staff are friendly and willing to help. Parking is odd here, I'm not sure what they were thinking when they made the parking lot layout. Two entrances and two exits. One entrance comes off the exit ramp off of route 7. The other is from the Village at Leesburg area, this is also an exit. The second exit is not well known, located on the far end of the store (near parking poles 1 and 2). It's a little one way street that spits you out by the parking garages and gym at the other end if the Village Leesburg (I find this to be a faster way of getting out).
I'm not familiar with the store layout well (I simply just ring the items up). But usually staff have a Wegmans app that will tell you the isle the item is on if they don't know themselves (or you can simply download it yourself and find the item its honestly not that hard). I will say the Nature's Marketplace area where we keep our gluten free, dairy free, vegan, food allergy foods is very difficult to navigate.
Yes there is no self checkout, we are "working on it", trust me, I asked. Even so the Leesburg Wegmans cashiers are well trained and the fastest out of all the other Wegmans. We hold an average of 14.5 or more items a minute. There is competition on that. Even so, lines do happen on very busy days. The best days to shop are weekdays as there are less people, Thursdays and early mornings are particularly clear of people.
