This place is a lot of fun. First time there and i will definitely be returning. There are some pros and cons though. PROS: Knowledgable staff - They do a good job of giving you all the necessary information to have a safe and fun time. Quick reactions - If someone does spin on track, they are quick to react and slow down everyones kart to avoid further accidents. Reservations - I would definitely recommend making a reservation before hand, especially on the weekends. I think our reservation got us into the karts much faster than if we had just walked in to race. Timing - The races are won by fastest lap rather than start to finish racing. So while you are racing your friends, someone in the back of the field could win with a faster lap. Which makes it a constant battle throughout the race. CONS: Speed - While the karts may reach 50 mph, you do not get anywhere close to that speed on track. The track is much too short and turn oriented to be able to reach 50. Still seems fast but the karts don't have speedometers and i think that is by design. Age - I think the age minimum being 13 for the pro karts is too low. My race included 3 or 4 younger racers and it is hard to get consistent lap times with youngsters out there slamming the brakes in every turn and causing accidents almost every lap. I think a drivers license should be a requirement to run the pro karts, or at least separate the experienced drivers with the unexperienced somehow. Semi-dangerous - While the staff does the best job they can to keep the environment safe, these karts are still fast and dangerous. This kind of goes hand in hand with my previous point, but when an unexperienced driver spins right in front of you, your reaction time to avoid an accident is slim to none. There are still chances of high speed collisions. Check-in: I think the check-in process needs some work. We had a reservation and waited almost 30-40 minutes just to check in with the front desk. Once you get checked in, we were in karts and racing relatively quickly, but it takes a while to get there depending on...
Read moreAs a return customer: Did an initial 3-race package and our track attendant, Moroni, was very professional. Guy was super laid back, cracked jokes with us, and definitely made an already fun experience just that much better. I personally forgot the rule about walking around the cars to get into your vehicle and he very nicely corrected us to make sure we were doing everything by the book.
We went on a Monday afternoon for a friend’s birthday and the place was clean, well-kept, and all the equipment was neatly organized to make the pre-race stuff quicker, letting us get right to the actual racing.
The female attendant at the front register was super well-humored too and very personable. Overall a 5/5 experience and I’m already looking forward to our next outing.
Never once had a bad experience in the two years I’ve been going to Autobahn. The only (very, very slight) negative aspect I can think of on our most recent trip is that we wanted to do an axe-throwing intermission between groups of races but they politely explained that they didn’t have a mandatory safety supervisor available for a full throwing session. They let us know for future reference that, through the weekdays, axe throwing by appointment is pretty much the standard which made sense during low-volume time periods. Even still, they offered us 5 free throws after a brief safety explanation, of which we took full advantage.
I’d strongly recommend this attraction for anyone ages 12+ who enjoy all levels of competitive go-kart racing. The prices are more than reasonable for racing and axe throwing. Discounts are available for first responders, military, and related...
Read moreWould not recommend this place for axe throwing. A huge let down across the board. I Took my son and his friends for axe throwing (17&18 year olds). They all set up profiles and did the registration before hand. When we got there we were told we had to do it again because they were not there. Masks are required regardless of vaccination status. And pretty rude about it too. It is one cage with 2 targets set up in the foyer of the building. I have been to other axe throwing venues and this place is a total rip off. If you are not throwing you are on the outside of the cage looking in. While I understand the safety involved with this activity. I thought the object to these activities is for friendly interaction with your group. With their set up here. You are basically sitting in a time out until it's your turn. Separated from those throwing. They allow for up to 12 people to ALL throw for one session. So even though we booked for a group of 6 (each paying $35) they allow others to book or walk in and be apart of the same throwing time frame. Again, at other venues you are allowed only up to 4 - 6 people 2 target lane. Not 12!!!! Also you only pay $25 per person. The added taxes, reservation fees and licenses you have to buy was also a fun $urprise. I would guess the 1k+ reviews from people is because the harrisburg area is lacking indoor attractions. The facility is sad compared to how it is potrayed ontheir website. The customer service was also a big let down. It was if we were bothering them by actually showing up and being there. Do not waste your time or money here. We...
