We stopped here earlier today on the way into town! What a cute and clean visitors information center. The two lovely ladies that were working were very informative and gave us a bunch of great suggestions of things to do. They provided us maps for scenic drives as well. They were super friendly, I could have spent all day talking to them. 😊 I would 100% recommend stopping by when you get to town.

That gentleman was exceedingly kind and helpful; he provided excellent suggestions for our trip, including places to visit and even offered discounts. He also shared some fascinating historical information about the town. I highly recommend that travelers, or anyone wishing to explore, stop by.

If you ever find yourself meandering through the charming hills of West Virginia and stumble into the Lewisburg County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau (perhaps lured in by curiosity or the promise of a clean restroom and air conditioning) you are in for a treat far beyond the usual leaflets and awkward eye contact.

Inside, I had the immense pleasure of meeting Jack and Bruce, two absolute fonts of local knowledge. I say “fonts” because “oceans” would imply something overwhelming and Jack and Bruce are anything but. These gents dispense information the way small-town bartenders pour whiskey: confidently, generously, and with a twinkle in the eye.

They gave me such enthusiastic, pinpoint-perfect recommendations that I began to suspect they might actually be Lewisburg in disguise. Their banter was the kind of witty back and forth that makes you want to pull up a chair and ask if there’s a podcast you can subscribe to.

All in all, I went in looking for a map and came out with a weekend itinerary and the lingering suspicion that I may never meet two more delightful human beings in any visitor’s bureau, ever.

Go for the pamphlets. Stay for...
