The alterations department is poorly managed and run by liars. I had an appointment to PICK UP my wedding dress (confirmed by signed receipt) and when I got there they said,”You know this is a second fitting right?” Wrong. My alterations receipt said pick up date was that day (9/20). The woman just lied to my face. My wedding was less than two months away at that point and I was definitely meant to be taking my dress home THAT DAY. Especially since they had been “working on it” for over a month (since 8/11). They bring out my dress and they have done a fraction of the alterations I needed, and poorly at that. Only two button had been sewn on when I needed the bust taken in, straps added, and a whole bustle done. Thankfully, my wedding wasn’t until 11/14 so there was time, but I certainly did not want to deal with this added stress when they could have just kept their word (or just been honest with me) and done their job. Before going back a second time to actually pick up my dress, I called the day before to see if it would be ready and was told it would be. I called the day of to double check before driving 45 minutes and they said they were currently working on it. Rushing to finish my WEDDING dress, really? I finally got to take my dress home 10/4, two weeks after I was supposed to have it and a little over a month until my wedding. I know if I had not been persistent, I probably would have gotten my dress back a week before my wedding. For a bridal shop, they certainly do not cater to anxious brides with a timeline. I am generally very disappointed with the lack of skill, time management, and ethics of the alterations department. I gave them two stars because at least the alterations turned out passable in the end.

A few weeks ago, I was excited to pick up my wedding dress after alterations, but I was incredibly let down by the poor quality of the bustle work. While the hemline was done beautifully and I want to acknowledge that aspect, the bustle was handled very poorly. Large clear buttons were used, and they were unevenly spaced, making the dress look unfinished and tacky. The sales associate who assisted me was kind and helpful—it was clear that the issue was not her fault. When I asked why the bustle wasn’t done correctly, I was surprised to learn that due to a shortage of seamstresses, other staff members handle tasks such as sewing buttons. I was also told that they sometimes run out of the appropriate materials. Given the premium I paid for alterations—more than the cost of the dress itself—this explanation was incredibly disappointing. When the manager became involved, I had hoped for a sincere apology and a commitment to make things right. Instead, I was met with excuses and what felt like blame being shifted onto me. Initially, they tried to deny my request for a refund, citing a signed contract. However, I made it clear that the work delivered did not meet the promised standards. Eventually, I did receive a refund and took my dress with me, but the experience was frustrating and upsetting. I will now be working with an independent seamstress to repair the bustle. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend David’s Bridal for alterations. The quality did not reflect the price paid, and the customer service response was extremely disappointing.

The alterations department here just cannot be beat. I ordered my dress out-of-state when visiting my mom, but came here to get it altered because this location came very highly recommended by a friend. Brides, if you are stuck in the body dysmorphia that comes with dress-shopping and being told from every direction that we have to be perfect on our wedding day…go here. I was losing sleep over body issues, had major dress regret because of the sheer sides and open back that something had possessed me to go with when I first bought it. Over the course of the appointments that it took to get my alterations finished, Ms. Kay, the alterations manager, was my biggest hype woman, encouraged me, helped me find the changes to the dress that would help me feel great, built me up and talked me out of changes I only wanted because of insecurity. I felt great on my wedding day, and I credit that in no small part to her. The rest of the team was also super sweet and great. My alterations were pretty complex, because the dress underwent quite a few changes (removed cap sleeves, added long sheer sleeves for a late fall wedding, etc.), and the end result was stunning. This is just where you need to go if you live in the mid cities and need bridal or other alterations.

I had my Bridal shopping appointment on January 18th for find my wedding dress. As many know, this day can be exhausting and stressful. David’s Bridal was my first appointment of the day (and my first bridal dress appt ever.)

When my party and I arrived we were showed the racks of dresses to look through while our helper finishes up with her other guests. After about 20 minutes of looking and picking out dresses my helper, Hanna, finally greeted us. She explained that she was helping another bride as well as me. Which, I understood and didn’t mind. I told her the style of dresses I am interested in and what features I am not interested in. For example, I explained I personally do not like high neckline on dresses, even if it is just simply mesh or lace. I gave her three dresses I picked out and told her I had two more I liked, which she said we will try these three on first then continue with the rest.

Once we got to the dressing room I noticed how every other bride surrounding me had a sign on their dressing room door with their names and the date of their wedding… I did not. Hanna simply sat one of my dresses that I had picked out on the rack with one she picked and said she still has to grab the others. Before she left she asked what I thought of the dress she had picked. The dress had a high mesh neckline so immediately I hated it. I told her that I do not like the high neckline and I had already told her that. She told me that that is not what I said and that I told her I just don’t like lace necklines. After she left, myself and my guests were in shock of her sour attitude, but we figured she is just busy and continued on.

One of the dresses I tried on I was not a fan of but there was no particular reason. I just did not find it flattering on myself. Hanna kept questioning me on what I do not like about it, and I kept telling her “I’m not sure.” She still continued not letting “I’m not sure” be my answer so finally I told her, “is my fat an answer?” Trying to joke. She simply rolled her eyes at my response and moved on.

After about 4 dresses (only one of these dresses actually being one that I had picked out) I finally tried one on that I enjoyed. It was a little baggy on me so I held the back of the dress to try to “singe” in my waist to better my silhouette. Hanna, asks me why I am holding the back and I explain what I said before. She then points to my stomach and says, “well you said you didn’t want your fat to be accentuated and that is exactly what is happening.” After her rude comment, I no longer enjoyed how I looked in this dress. I asked her if I could grab the other two dresses that I liked to try on and she no “no, your hour is up. We are out of time.” So, not only did it take 20 minutes for her to greet us, I only got to try on ONE of my dresses I had picked out, and instead had to try on her HORRIBLE taste in dresses. Hanna, did not offer once to put on a veil with one of my dresses until I had already changed and she said she, “completely forgot.”

I DO NOT RECOMMEND HANNA TO ANYONE!! The other helpers seemed to be taking good care of their brides. But mine was an awful experience. I ended up finding my dress at Brilliant Bridal in Dallas and it was a MUCH...

Honestly, I wish I could put zero stars. My total experience was absolutely terrible. Starting with finding my wedding dress, it wasn’t bad until I was a few dresses in. The sales manager, Lindsay as well as the store manager crowded around me and the group of girls I brought and started taking dresses I was about to try on away. My mom asked her why they were talking one, to which I was about to try that one on next. This is where Lindsay told us we had been there for an hour and 45 minutes and that my appointment is only for an hour and a half. No where in my call of scheduling this appointment was that mention, nor was it in the confirmation email so this news was very frustrating. Fortunately, I had decided which dress I loved and was able to choose my dress before they shut down my appointment. As I was taking pics with the dress I chose, Lindsay informed us of the alterations pricing which totaled to $50 MAYBE $70. About a week later, I went to my alteration appointment. Everything went well and Dom was great, except when she said the alterations would be $150, mind you a week ago we were quoted way less than that. Dom asked the manager if they could give us a discount due to the difference that we were quoted. The manager basically said no and gave us 10% off because I am a loyalty member. Dom told us the process of the next two appointments, I would need to bring my jewelry and shoes for the final try on to see it all together and that the next appointment my dress would be apart due to where the alternations would be located. The second alterations appointment took 5 minutes, my dress was put together and nothing was done that I was told would be done. The lady that helped me during that appointment said I would just need to pick it up the next time I come, no try ons or anything. So a week later, I go to pick it up and it was the complete opposite. I did have to try it on. All in all, this business is very unorganized, very rude, and my experience was disappointing. Starting with the day that’s a big day to a women, finding her wedding dress that was ruined very quickly. The employees there are very unprofessional and unexplainably rude. I will not be returning there under any circumstances nor will I be referring anyone...

If you need to go to David's Bridal, go to any location except this one lol. Came here with my fiancée to help her Maid of Honor and mom find dresses for our ceremony. To say Hanna "helped us" would be very generous. First, to make small talk she asked my fiancée and I if we already had dresses picked out, which we did. She asked where we got them from and acted very snooty when we said we got them at a store other than David's Bridal, making faces about length, and the fact that we said we'd already seen each other's dresses, etc. She hardly helped us pick out sizes for the MoH to try, kept repeating that we'd have to order it and then pay more to get it tailored there, things like that. Brought us incorrect sizes consistently without checking that the dress was actually the right size.

We ended up ordering a dress in a different color, pressed for time, as well as a shrug for my fiancée's mother. Paid a rush fee for both items, only to find that the burgundy shrug we ordered came in in WHITE. Manager offered to fix it before discovering that "The color and size you want isn't going to be shipped in time, would you like to size up from a large to a 2XL?" No, we need the size and color we ordered, which is why we ordered that one. She proceeded to tell me that there wasn't anything I could do, it wouldn't arrive on time. I asked her to call a different location to see if they might have it, to which she said "This is a warehouse item, we don't sell it in stores." Weird, because we tried it on in the correct size and color at a different store before we came to this location. Finally after I ask her to call again and check, she confirms the Dallas location had it and would put it on hold.

Other than a few cheery and helpful associates, this was overall a very disappointing and STRESSFUL experience on top of the already stressful experience of being a Bride to Be. Would...
