I had my Bridal shopping appointment on January 18th for find my wedding dress. As many know, this day can be exhausting and stressful. David’s Bridal was my first appointment of the day (and my first bridal dress appt ever.)
When my party and I arrived we were showed the racks of dresses to look through while our helper finishes up with her other guests. After about 20 minutes of looking and picking out dresses my helper, Hanna, finally greeted us. She explained that she was helping another bride as well as me. Which, I understood and didn’t mind. I told her the style of dresses I am interested in and what features I am not interested in. For example, I explained I personally do not like high neckline on dresses, even if it is just simply mesh or lace. I gave her three dresses I picked out and told her I had two more I liked, which she said we will try these three on first then continue with the rest.
Once we got to the dressing room I noticed how every other bride surrounding me had a sign on their dressing room door with their names and the date of their wedding… I did not. Hanna simply sat one of my dresses that I had picked out on the rack with one she picked and said she still has to grab the others. Before she left she asked what I thought of the dress she had picked. The dress had a high mesh neckline so immediately I hated it. I told her that I do not like the high neckline and I had already told her that. She told me that that is not what I said and that I told her I just don’t like lace necklines. After she left, myself and my guests were in shock of her sour attitude, but we figured she is just busy and continued on.
One of the dresses I tried on I was not a fan of but there was no particular reason. I just did not find it flattering on myself. Hanna kept questioning me on what I do not like about it, and I kept telling her “I’m not sure.” She still continued not letting “I’m not sure” be my answer so finally I told her, “is my fat an answer?” Trying to joke. She simply rolled her eyes at my response and moved on.
After about 4 dresses (only one of these dresses actually being one that I had picked out) I finally tried one on that I enjoyed. It was a little baggy on me so I held the back of the dress to try to “singe” in my waist to better my silhouette. Hanna, asks me why I am holding the back and I explain what I said before. She then points to my stomach and says, “well you said you didn’t want your fat to be accentuated and that is exactly what is happening.” After her rude comment, I no longer enjoyed how I looked in this dress. I asked her if I could grab the other two dresses that I liked to try on and she no “no, your hour is up. We are out of time.” So, not only did it take 20 minutes for her to greet us, I only got to try on ONE of my dresses I had picked out, and instead had to try on her HORRIBLE taste in dresses. Hanna, did not offer once to put on a veil with one of my dresses until I had already changed and she said she, “completely forgot.”
I DO NOT RECOMMEND HANNA TO ANYONE!! The other helpers seemed to be taking good care of their brides. But mine was an awful experience. I ended up finding my dress at Brilliant Bridal in Dallas and it was a MUCH...
Read moreHonestly, I wish I could put zero stars. My total experience was absolutely terrible. Starting with finding my wedding dress, it wasn’t bad until I was a few dresses in. The sales manager, Lindsay as well as the store manager crowded around me and the group of girls I brought and started taking dresses I was about to try on away. My mom asked her why they were talking one, to which I was about to try that one on next. This is where Lindsay told us we had been there for an hour and 45 minutes and that my appointment is only for an hour and a half. No where in my call of scheduling this appointment was that mention, nor was it in the confirmation email so this news was very frustrating. Fortunately, I had decided which dress I loved and was able to choose my dress before they shut down my appointment. As I was taking pics with the dress I chose, Lindsay informed us of the alterations pricing which totaled to $50 MAYBE $70. About a week later, I went to my alteration appointment. Everything went well and Dom was great, except when she said the alterations would be $150, mind you a week ago we were quoted way less than that. Dom asked the manager if they could give us a discount due to the difference that we were quoted. The manager basically said no and gave us 10% off because I am a loyalty member. Dom told us the process of the next two appointments, I would need to bring my jewelry and shoes for the final try on to see it all together and that the next appointment my dress would be apart due to where the alternations would be located. The second alterations appointment took 5 minutes, my dress was put together and nothing was done that I was told would be done. The lady that helped me during that appointment said I would just need to pick it up the next time I come, no try ons or anything. So a week later, I go to pick it up and it was the complete opposite. I did have to try it on. All in all, this business is very unorganized, very rude, and my experience was disappointing. Starting with the day that’s a big day to a women, finding her wedding dress that was ruined very quickly. The employees there are very unprofessional and unexplainably rude. I will not be returning there under any circumstances nor will I be referring anyone...
Read moreIf you need to go to David's Bridal, go to any location except this one lol. Came here with my fiancée to help her Maid of Honor and mom find dresses for our ceremony. To say Hanna "helped us" would be very generous. First, to make small talk she asked my fiancée and I if we already had dresses picked out, which we did. She asked where we got them from and acted very snooty when we said we got them at a store other than David's Bridal, making faces about length, and the fact that we said we'd already seen each other's dresses, etc. She hardly helped us pick out sizes for the MoH to try, kept repeating that we'd have to order it and then pay more to get it tailored there, things like that. Brought us incorrect sizes consistently without checking that the dress was actually the right size.
We ended up ordering a dress in a different color, pressed for time, as well as a shrug for my fiancée's mother. Paid a rush fee for both items, only to find that the burgundy shrug we ordered came in in WHITE. Manager offered to fix it before discovering that "The color and size you want isn't going to be shipped in time, would you like to size up from a large to a 2XL?" No, we need the size and color we ordered, which is why we ordered that one. She proceeded to tell me that there wasn't anything I could do, it wouldn't arrive on time. I asked her to call a different location to see if they might have it, to which she said "This is a warehouse item, we don't sell it in stores." Weird, because we tried it on in the correct size and color at a different store before we came to this location. Finally after I ask her to call again and check, she confirms the Dallas location had it and would put it on hold.
Other than a few cheery and helpful associates, this was overall a very disappointing and STRESSFUL experience on top of the already stressful experience of being a Bride to Be. Would...
