This was my very first time dining at Manna Shabu & BBQ (Lewisville location) while visiting for a concert weekend, and I have to say—it was such a wonderful experience! They were even having a special collaboration with a local small business vendor for the Ateez concert and offering a complimentary Lemon Drop mocktail for each diner, which was such a fun and thoughtful touch.
From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed. I believe it was the owner or manager who greeted me, and when he learned it was my first visit, he kindly explained the menu, the dining options, and where to find the different food and sauce stations. I was then shown to my table where a very sweet server brought me water and took my order. Throughout my meal, two other staff members as well as the owner/manager checked on me often. The service was beyond excellent—everyone was attentive, helpful, and genuinely kind.
Now onto the food—oh my gosh, the portions were incredible! I ordered three different meats and was so pleasantly surprised at the generous serving sizes. At most KBBQ places, one order barely feels like enough for a single person, but here, each order was hearty and satisfying. I couldn’t stop raving about it to my boyfriend and mom while on the phone during my meal! The meat was fresh, high-quality, and delicious—even without dipping sauces. The corn cheese also deserves a special shout-out—it was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had.
Beyond the main dishes, there were so many great options: hot plates like mandu, sausage, japchae, fried rice, and chicken; a nice selection of banchan; an ice cream station for dessert; and a wide variety of sauces to complement everything. The restaurant itself was very clean, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and even the restrooms were spotless. I also loved that the TVs played some of my favorite K-pop groups and the music playlist was absolutely top tier—it really added to the fun vibe.
Dining here as a solo traveler, I never once felt uncomfortable or out of place. On the contrary, I felt taken care of and treated like a QUEEN. It was such a comforting and memorable experience, and I am so thankful for the outstanding hospitality and service I received.
I highly recommend Manna Shabu & BBQ and can’t wait to come back with my family the next time I’m in town. Thank you for making my first visit such a...
Read moreDon’t go there unless you want to be insulted. All the good reviews are fake and they bought the good reviews. I am feeling sad for being treated rudely and insultingly by the waitress and their food caused pain in my stomach for days. I have to take medicines. Awful customer service - We ordered beef and fish for the first round, but the waitress only brought us one plate of fish. Their rule is in one round order, we get 3 plates for each type of meat. So I asked our waitress nicely if I could get another plate of fish since I don't eat beef in shabu soup but I like the fish. only my friend will eat the beef. The waitress refused and told us that we must finish all the beef first. We didn't ask for more meat afterward. After bringing our food, our waitress disappeared for a long time. We could not find her so we had to ask for help from the different waitresses such as filling the water etc. Even with the dissatisfaction with the service, I still decided to pay her a tip for the courtesy as she is an old lady. However, well, that was not enough for her. If the waitress came back to me politely asking to be paid more, I would consider paying the amount she asked for, but instead, she was nearly yelling at me. She threw the receipts to me in front of my friend and asked me to pay her more. Food is not clean. pain in the stomach for days. In the restaurant, If you don't finish your food within 2 hours or pay them the tips they asked for, they will force you out of the restaurant no matter what. Our waitress forced us out of the restaurant because I didn't give her the percentage of tips she asked for.( our bill is $70, i paid her 10% tips) She came to our table staring at us and non-stop warning us to leave right away. I would say that you should let your customers know if they eat for more than 2 hours, how much you want to charge. You should not use it as an excuse to push your customers out of the restaurant while you have so many empty tables. I and my friend didn't eat a lot but we just sat there to chat.
** We will never go back there again and their other chain restaurants as well. There are plenty of other Korean restaurants in the DFW area that provide the same food with MUCH BETTER services. I don’t recommend you go...
Read moreVery rude and lack of common sense from a server.
Our family was a regular here and we always have enjoyed coming, prior to today. We came today to celebrate our first child's first birthday.
This is my first and hopefully the last complaint review.. I write this is distress of recent entitled service attitude from servers. In hopes that the restaurant services can better themselves and and servers can Really earn the tips they deserve.
We had 6 adults and a baby. They sat us in a 6 seating table with a high chair right between ours and the adjacent table. Proceeds to bring four people to that table, when 2/3 of the store was empty. I asked the server if they wanted us to move the high chair to the other side since the other customers couldn't get in. She said no because the other side needed space for robot and workers to walk... so I waited for an answer to what to do, because the other customers were standing there not able to sit because of our baby. Finally she realized the new customers couldn't get in and decided to sit them else where.
Later on, while we were eating and had many empty plates laying around. I put the empty plates on the empty table next to us to keep it out of reach from our baby. The server lady comes along and tells us not to put the plates there because she has to wipe them if we do, and instead put the dirty plates infront of the baby so she can pick it up 🫨 this instantly showed her demeanor towards customer service. She didn't have the common sense to why I avoided putting them away from the baby.
In her despite I put the dirty plates in front of the baby and of course the baby drops them on the floor...so another server comes along and I asked her if it's okay we put our plates away from the baby on the empty table? And yes, of course.
Long story short, she ruined our whole appetite and mood by being so rude and never even apologized for her stubbornness.
It angers me that a simple understanding and politeness could be so lacking.
I look forward to dining out here in the future and expect to be better. Because it cannot...
