This is primarily a comic/collectible shop, that also has a magic the gathering following. They do not carry D&D that I've seen, nor Warhammer. The owner and his wife are helpful and knowledgeable about comics, and will take care of you for MTG. There are regulars in the shop for comics/collectables, and then there is the MTG crowd that invades periodically. The MTG crowd is small, self sufficient, and friendly, they have a mix of skill/age/gender/race/religion/sexuality that is surprising for such a small group, and they create a welcoming family atmosphere to other players, even their competitive players. The owner runs the tournament software, and leaves the players to themselves for the most part, though he'll wander over on occasion and watch a match. Magic doesn't appear to be his obvious passion, and the regular players seem to accept that. I may be wrong and he may be a closet magic player, and everyone just humors his comic book habit. The selection is great for comics and collectibles, and fair for MTG. The prices are good, FNM is one of the cheapest around. Prize support for FNM is as follows, the first couple of places get promo's, and promos are randomly handed out to other players at the end of the evening. Packs are dependent on rank. The number of packs is usually small, so you never have a chance to win half a box, but you also aren't paying an extra $5 for entry just to see the same two elite players walk away with 16 packs a week. The bathroom is clean. They have WIFI, and sell cheap drinks. They don't mind if you carry in food and there is a little Caesars with $5 single toppings within 100 yards...
Read moreHeroâs realm is absolutely the best comic/toy store iv been to. I went to two comic stores yesterday to start my son a collection of comics after showing interest in my collection, the first store was horrible I was told as I walked in âdonât let your son touch anything that you cant affordâ and they had music playing that wasnât family friendly at all so we turned around and walked out and came to heroâs realm , and mannnnn am I glad that we did . As soon as we walked in the owner welcomed us to the store and made sure I knew she was there to assist if needed. She gave my son 2 comics from free comic day which helped more than I can explain (my sons 3) so the comics kept him entertained while I browsed through heroâs realms HUGE selection of DOLLAR comics . Very nice selection at absolutely great prices . The environment stepping through the door was pleasant and welcoming, the owners are spectacular and hands down deserving of the company theyâve grown in the past 13 years ! I hope your store continues to thrive and Iâm proud to say I found my go to for ALL of my collection needs not just comics , they have a little of EVERYTHING! Swing through and support this local shop if your looking for collectibles, youâll love the selection and owners! Thank you hero realms for the respect you showed my 3 year old yesterday, he showed his car off you gave him to EVERYONE he seen for the rest of the day! 10/10 rating on cleanliness, welcoming environment and customer service, after leaving youâll see why hero realms has been open for 13 years and will be open...
Read moreI pull a lot of comics every month and this is the best comic book store in Lexington, no contest. For starters, they have a generous discount for folks with a pull list. More importantly, they have never messed up or forgot a special order I've requested, and I order variant covers every week. If something runs out on the shelf, I'm confident they'll get it ordered and into my folder (I cant say this about other stores who routinely forget to order and/or don't put ordered issues in my folder...). The issues are always in good condition, the store is clean, well managed and easy to navigate. The store also has an impressive supply of dollar bins, as well as, a table or two of random runs they'll put together for fair prices. Oh and did I mention all the toys? Yeah they have a million toys too if youre into that kind of thing. So yeah, Beth and Stephen...
