I like going here, it's cool to look around and check things out. Being a young parent it's way out of my price range and a majority of what they carry is action figures and large play set toys that I wouldn't want my kids tearing up. I used to like shopping their comics, but since they've been found people have picked them clean, they used to be hidden away in the old antique store, where it was possible to find some cool comics but now and days anything worth reading is in the new shop and typically is overpriced in my opinion, or has already been grabbed by an older customer who has the extra scratch to buy whatever whenever. Still that being said, the staff are crazy nice, willing to let you look and touch, I've even brought my son in there and have gotten some TMNT toys cheap for him that were in a broken/bargain basket. Don't let my whining discourage you from visiting, because it's an amazing place filled with a ton of memories and should at least be visited once. Best of luck in the years...
Read moreBest comic book store in the entire KC area, I will never go anywhere else. I have bought easily over 100 items here since they have been in business.I have been coming here for over two years, (before they did the remodel) Sean and his wife Lisa are saints. There are so many reasons to love this store, their selection and service are nothing but stellar. They play the greatest music in store (70s and 80s). Sean is very informative and will try to help you the best he can if there is something you want. Just going in here is an enjoyable experience and they won’t glare at you like most comic book shops do if you don’t buy anything. The store is very clean and smells good, sometimes the counter at the front can get a bit cluttered and that kinda bothers me but that’s only because they are constantly getting stuff in.
Whatever you do, do not under any circumstances go to B Bop comics over on Barry road, absolutely horrid customer service. Save your time and your money and go to...
Read moreThe positive: Great selection of comics, both new and old. The lady at the counter was super friendly. A couple Holy Grail wall books to be seen.
The negative: The sticker price on probably 80% of their books is obscenely over-priced. This is one of those places that marks the books sky-high, then offers a "deal" at 50% off sticker price.
I did manage to find a couple books that were right around FMV, with the 50% off applied....but that's about it.
Definitely worth a look, to see some great comics on the wall and in the boxes. Just not a place where you should expect your dollar to...
