I must say for never stepping foot in this boutique and only speaking with the owner for a few minutes on the phone, I felt my one star review might be a bit hasty but in todays world it’s all about energy and tone. My husband and I recently moved to the area because of his job. I was so excited to move to the area and find a cute boutique to work at part time or even full time if possible just to get out of the house and make some friends! I spent a few hours in Libertyville one Saturday and saw this boutique (at the time it was closed - around 7/8pm). I thought it was such a quaint and aesthetically pleasing boutique. I was so excited that I applied online and then emailed the owner.
A few days went by and I received a call from an unknown number (Hawaii) usually I don’t answer numbers I don’t recognize especially if they are from states I am not affiliated with (yes applying to places I should have answered but I was expecting Illinois area codes not Hawaii).. the number left a voice message and it was from Crystal, the owner/manager of the boutique. I was so excited and when I called back I must say I wasn’t expecting this response. Well this is how the conversation went,
Crystal: Hello Me: Hi, is this Crystal? Crystal: Yes Me: Hi this is Jayde, I received your voicemail and am returning your call. Crystal: Ok Me: I applied online for the sales associate position and emailed you… Crystal: Oh hi! Sorry, I was like “Jayde who?” Me: Oh no worries at all! I should’ve started with that! Crystal: Sorry, can I call you back once my client leaves? Me: Yeah no problem, I’m free the rest of the day.
…hangs up.
Well I guess that client is really indecisive because I’m still waiting on a call back lol
Just reading the conversation it doesn’t sound that terrible but it was the annoyed tone she had the entire time. I was so uncomfortable and thought I called the wrong person..
If I could give no stars just based off of that call I would. I have almost 15 years of retail, customer service, real estate/mortgage and medical experience and I’ve never experienced a call like that.
Sorry but it’s a no for me. If an OWNER can speak to potential employees like that I can only imagine what it would be like to...
Read moreI purchased a dress for my daughter (who lives in the city) for her birthday. She tried it on and it was too short for her to wear. She called the store because of the 2 week return policy but there wasn't any answer to see if she could have an extension to return it because she wasn't coming here until Easter. I returned the dress today, Thursday, April 4, which was 3 weeks from when I purchased it. I wasn't even looking for a refund and just a store credit. I was told no, even though the dress I was returning is still on display in the store. It doesn't make any sense, they weren't losing out on a sale and they could easily resell it. I told the sales girl because of the lack of customer service they have lost me as a customer for sure and I will not recommend this store to my friends . For the owner who was supposedly contacted for her input and said "no" you might want to rethink the store 14 day policy before you go out of business for lack of customer service and...
Read moreDon’t bring kids in here. My daughter accidentally tried to sit on the stools in the fitting room and the blonde haired lady that was working today quickly got up and yelled at my daughter. Unprofessional, and before that she did not even offer to help. Never again. Update: my child was not unsupervised her grandma was sitting right across from her but before she could get up it was too late. It’s funny how you still put the blame on us instead of taking responsibility for your employees attitude and did not even mention the fact that before the incident happened she did not move an inch to help us but rather stared at us as if we were not welcomed. I’m not sure if you know but there is a way to tell a child what’s right from wrong without yelling at them. This just shows how you lack professionalism as stated in other reviews....
