Update: contacted them as they asked below and I've heard nothing. Seems like maybe it isn't just the manager that's terrible. I'm also not surprised to see the influx of reviews from others having similar rude encounters with the manager here. Very surprising she's working there considering how many reviews have popped up about the depths of her lack of professionalism and rudeness. I've gone back since and it was horrible each time. The manager just glares at me. The other employees scream at the top of their lungs that the store is closing once every 2 minutes for an hour. They loudly complain about customers and make sure we are all uncomfortable enough to just drop what we are doing and leave. It's really gone downhill fast.
I have been coming here for years. I always find something great, so it keeps me coming back. I've never felt inclined to write a positive review or a bad one... until tonight. I walked in around 815. I was looking for something specific (furniture), so I knew I'd be quick. When I walked in I found a Christmas village house and another, and noticed the tag didn't have a price. So I went to ask an associate who seemed like they were possibly management because they did not have a vest on like the others. They walked over and said "oh, its because it's a set, and there's are 14 pieces. If you find 1 out of 14, you'll find the price." I started to gather them together and pointed out there's only 8. She shrugged and said "I don't know what to tell ya". I asked if I could buy what was there, she said "not without a price". So I asked how do I get a price and where are the others? Again. Same shrug, and proceeded to tell me the morning manager would have to deal with it because "they dont know what to tell me". So I asked if these could be put to the side until then. They said no, it's company policy not to hold things. I started to point out that if they can't be sold, why can they not be put to the side until someone who is willing to price it is here. They proceeded to interrupt me. They would not let me speak. I asked if they would please let me continue. They said they did not interrupt me and for me to go ahead. I started again to ask for an understanding as to why they can't put them aside until they can be sold to me and once again i was cut off and spoken over. I pointed out that they again interrupted me. They cut me off even as I said this and told me someone in the morning can deal with me. So I asked how to do that and what her name was, and they walked away, as I was talking to them. Absolutely horrible behavior for someone working there and representing the place. I went to the register to leave my information since this person obviously had no intention of doing anything further for the night. The person in line in front of me was discussing what happened with the cashier, and I overheard them saying how unacceptable this person's behavior was (the person speaking was unaware i was standing there). Once the person noticed I was there, they spoke to me and said it was not ok how I was treated. The cashier tried to justify it by saying it's been a "long day". I left my number, but I have no hope of any customer service being followed through. I also found out this person was the manager here this evening. If that's who you have managing the store and other employees, I'm disappointed, to say the least. They should not be in that position. They are clearly frustrated with being there and took that out on a customer. They did not want to help with the situation at all, took the bare minimum route, and did it as rude...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYesterday, I bought an item in Lilburn, GA City Thrift store. Prior purchase, I asked an assosiate, a lady who was wearing a red apron, if I could return it. She told me that I could do so within 14 days. Today, I came to return the item. The supervisor told me that I could exchange and not to return. I informed them that I inquired prior the purchase about returning and was told that I could. He suggested me to look around and find an item for exchange. I asked would they exchange for another item that would be more expensive that the item I was told I could return. He referred me to a manager then. The manager told be that it was company policy that was placed at every cashier's station. He pointed to one. It was in Spanish. I told the manager that it would not help as I did not speak Spanish. His badge revealed his name as Jaramus. When I asked what was his last name he refused to tell me and became rude. I asked him to give his business card or provide me with customer service contact info. Jaramus told me to look it up. When I called one number. Someone Sidney who would not reveal her last name either, told me to look for a different company that runs GA Buy Thrift, it's name was Brook Valley Management. When I called the second company it took me to a voice mail asking for W-4 forms or dialing by name directory. There was no option to get to someone live.
Reading all the the reviews here, I found one where manager responded to a negative review and provided email address. I emailed there. But, honestly, after all my discoveries, I do not believe it woukd be resolveds by this SHADY and suspicious company.
I recommend to switching to a nice local store in Lawrenceville, St Vincent and Paul Thrift Store. There you could find extremely nice items for and half or even a third of the Lilburn City Thrift's price.
You are welcome for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSomething of great concern!!!! If you should use the Bathroom have someone stand outside. You have been made aware! The bathroom door knob that locks has been removed. So you cannot lock the door once you enter to use the toilet. Management took it upon themselves to remove it so it does not lock. They feel it will stop people from stealing. This is horrible and totally unethical and unprofessional. So they are concerned someone is going to steal an overpriced item that was given for free.
So go #1 or #2 youāre at risk!! Once again part the Locks the Bathroom Door has been removed by manager. You have been warned !!..
Second time visiting this store. I have to say they do have a busy store. But some prices are over the roof. I was shocked to find a pair of used and pretty soiled Vans for 49 and change but have also found other items reasonably priced. The ladies putting up racks are polite and keep to themselves and work. But they do chat with each other and cut up which I like seeing. Itās not easy working at a Thrift, been there done that. I did notice those that buy and sell walk in like a bull in a china shop looking and making a mess . My 1 complain?? Please invest in shopping carts a little upkeep would be nice. Every one was pleasant and my only complain are the super high prices in some items. I did find it a bit strange seeing an area with super expensive knockoff. Also, I read many complaints. Remember you are shopping in a thrift store not a high end store. If you think this store is employee with attitude, you will be shocked at the thrift in Miami. Ruthless and I...
