I was actually trying to get an appointment at the Bloomfield location, but they were booked for when I needed. I was referred to this location because it was just opening this week and had many open appointments.
I originally scheduled a Friday appointment, but called Wednesday morning to see if I could move it up. I received a new appointment for the same day in the afternoon. I was not told the grace period over the phone and I was told the website wasnāt up and running yet as they were still new, so I had no way of knowing about the 7 min grace period. In any case, after trying to find the location and parking, I arrived at 3:08. When I arrived, I was told by the receptionist that hey have a 7 min grace period and I could no longer receive one of my 3 services. I told her it was only 3:08!! She said they have a very strict policy because they book their appointments close together.
I started to just cancel right then and there on principle alone but I filled out the intake form and sat down. The aesthetician came out and apparently informed her there was an issue with the wax and called a guy named Michael to fix it. After waiting a few more minutes, I decided to leave and told her to cancel my appointment. She had the audacity to tell me they were just heating the wax and it wouldnāt take long!!! Iām not sure why I was expected to understand them running behind when she clearly wasnāt willing to understand a new client being 1-min past the grace period. She tried to get me to reschedule, but I declined. I was completely turned off by that time. Iād have expected her to at least acknowledge how ridiculous it was for her to remove one of my services for being 1 min late when they werenāt even prepared for me to go right in.
Iām not at all a difficult client. I am polite to service staff and I always tip very well. If they didnāt have the time to perform all my services, they shouldāve let me know at the time of booking and Iād have just booked for a different time. I decided I wonāt be returning there and will not recommend it to my friends and family.
Professionalism and courtesy go a long way. As far as the actual service quality, I canāt comment as I did not receive my service. I will say that if you choose to go here, make sure youāre early, because parking may be awful. The office itself is beautiful and clean as is the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you like patchy work and unprofessional people this is the place for you! Iāve been with them since Bloomfield and always overlooked any issues because itās a good price for a Brazilian. Like $25 canāt be beat; so you overlook the no parking, unprofessional staff, and the fact that they always seem to miss a spot. I have had many instances where I wasnāt satisfied but this last encounter was the last straw. After finally being able to find some childcare as a new mom, I headed to my appointment. For the holidays the town of linden decides to suspend parking meters, so parking is a little more insane. I get there in time but spent my āgrace periodā looking for parking. I checked the time when I left my car and I was good. I walk in and before I could even fill out the form my own waxer, Destiny tells me I missed my 12:15 appointment and grace period. I look at the clock and itās 12:23. Iām already shocked because it must have just turned 12:23 because it was 12:21 when I left my car but I understand. I ask for the next available spot but she has nothing until 5:15. As a mother, that doesnāt work for me. I ask if anyone else is available but sheās the only waxer here. So now Iām confused, youāre wasting time because I āmissed my appointmentā by 1 minute. There is no one in the waiting room, youāre not currently waxing someone, and youāre the only waxer here. I couldnāt believe it. Then she tells me she wonāt charge me a no show fee. And at that point Iām passed confused and realized Iām over it. The tone in her voice and demeanor was so snarky and unprofessional. Like I am crucified for a minute but have waited longer than that at previous appointments. Trust me if this is the treatment that comes with a ābargainā wax, no thank you. They are real good at being great at pretending to be professional in the beginning but that eventually fades. The waxes get worse as time goes on as well as the service. I wouldnāt recommend this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLast month, I had the store call me three times in the same week to reschedule my appointment because of overbooking. I was very amenable to the change, especially since Iāve been coming here for a months and understand that life happens. Today, I had an emergency and needed to reschedule which resulted in a 50% cancellation charge. This place has no problem disrespecting the time of their customers and having them sit in the waiting room 15 minutes over their appointment time. They also have no issue canceling appointments at the last minute, but they cannot do the courtesy of trying to work with you when you have emergencies. I canāt recommend a place that doesnāt value their customers nor respect the time of their waxers. Iād rather go somewhere and pay a little bit more and work with professionals but I guess you get what you pay for. I feel bad for those two waxers who are always saying how overworked they are or how theyāre forced to rush between appointments.
Update: Rather than offering any type of refund for the charge, the manager Janine called me to ask me to take my review down. She claims that I didnāt give enough information on my emergency to get a one time courtesy fee waiver. Iām not sure why I have to divulge personal information but this is a shady way of doing business. Best of...
