Durhams Electronics — Attraction in Little Rock

I have a 1997 Moses turntable/ stereo cabinet that i was hoping to have repaired. After all, all fuses work and the dang thing still operates but had discovered there to be one missing fuse bulb, so i called Durhams Electronics and left a voice message. After only minutes, my call was returned and i was promptly told that they do not repair entire cabinet stereos. I was told that their services are limited only to the turntables themselves. I explained that the turntable could be disconnected and removed, as i had previously discovered. Before i could explain that there seemed only to be a missing fuse, the gentleman on the phone told me there was a .."10% chance [he] would even consider servicing".. the turntable had it been removed from the cabinet and brought in by itself and a .."90% chance that [he] wouldn't even mess with".. my turntable. I find the customer service exceptionally poor and off putting. I will not be doing business with Durhams Electronics in the foreseeable future. I recommend that if you have a vintage turntable/ stereo cabinet.. do not burden this business with any questions or concers what so ever, let alone...

I'm forever indebted to Arvel for his repairing my old Technics turntable. Central Arkansas residents who are into old analog gear are fortunate to have a shop like this. I couldn't be more pleased listening to my old turntable which has given me problems for ages, after his repairs. I was thinking it was time to retire the old thing, sentimental attachments over the last few decades be darned, and purchase a new turntable. Nope! The platter is as stable as can be and the addition of shielded cabling has eliminated so much noise that was distracting before. Oh! ...and the automatic function works now for the first time in this century! This is not hyperbole...I'm truly indebted and overwhelmingly joyous. If you read this, thanks so...

So incredibly happy to have found Arvil at Durham's. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable about all things audio, but he cares for the equipment he handles with a reverence and respect that is so rare in our disposable society. Arvil repaired and restored my Jolida hybrid amp, returning it in even better condition than it was when I bought if from another audio enthusiast. He also installed and aligned a new cartridge and repaired the arm lift on my Music Hall turntable. If you need audio service or repair, you will not find...
