Giving 3Stars. please read. I went to this barber shop because my coworker said that this was the best place to get a really nice haircut for guys. so been a long time because I don't have a lot of money to get one all the time so I wanted to treat my self( haircut $35 and beard $15 ) so I went in and did not have appointment but got right into the seat with......what i thought was a nice gentleman ( He did not speak english but I don't care because I use a translator app ) so making small conversation on the app with him ( do you have kids? are you married? ) well I guess he did not understand me because he thought I was hitting on him. now this was at the beginning of the hair cut. then talked trash to a coworker in Spanish ( wish I had my phone out listening but did not ) the guy cutting my hair was really nice I thought. but once I gave him my tip. I only had a $10 ( but told the lady next time I will bring a bigger tip because my hair was very bad )he went outside to smoke a cigarette. I paid my bill then went outside to thank him for this awesome haircut. then his persona changed. Tried to talk to him and say thank you he threw his hands up at me and walked away. Then I said out loud what did I do wrong and obviously he could not understand me. So then the owner or the manager of the store came out and tried to explain this to him that I was not hitting on him I was just making conversation. I even told the lady that was at the front counter that I did not need her help that I would use my app to talk and communicate. I told her that communication is the key in the world. this was not very great communication. As I am not gay and he thought I was and hitting on him. Even though I told the lady up front and showed her my phone history of the conversations of what was said. Still yet I did not get a sorry or anything from the guy even though she was telling him that I was not hitting on him as he thought.
So conclusion best haircut ever and I'm 43. guy that cut my hair great barber. but don't talk to him. Just talk to the lady let her know what you want. sit in the seat and be quiet. Because once again this is the best haircut I have had. hope I have a better experience next time I go. Love the atmosphere and the place look...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy first visit. The haircut was on point. I felt Barber took his time - not rushing. My only mild criticism is to comb / brush the clients hair to remove loose hairs and give the cut a more finished look. The cut ended abruptly - might be a cultural thing. Barber spoke only Spanish so other staff acted as interpreters - no problems. Based on observations on my visit clientele loves fades and beards
Decor was basic with a pool table in middle
SERVICE: Warm & friendly. Was attended to immediately on a late weekday afternoon - indicates plenty of barbers & chairs - big space I was offered a small bottle of water; nice touch on a hot busy day
AFTER the haircut started I noticed the CASH ONLY sign š³ Luckily I had just snatched a purse and had cash š. Jokes aside should let new clients know upfront. The cost surprised me - some of that is on me - I should have asked - other places have better signage tho. When entering new spaces it can be challenging to get your bearings
VALUE is personal and relative. This is a part of town with š° so $50 for fade & beard trim makes sense from that point. Clientele were regular people indicating many find it a good value. For me for $50 I need more; Either nicer space or more pampering ( hot towel or hair wash or whiskey or massage or my photo on the wall)
If you're unhappy with your current barber you should give this place a shot - bring cash and ask how much first tho Maybe they'll take your photo and put it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday I got a haircut and beard trim. I mentioned to the guy working the counter I wanted to keep the length of my beard, but have it lined up and faded into my undercut. I had to tell the front desk because my barber and I had a language gap (which is totally fine). Somehow it was lost in translation and I had my entire beard buzzed before I could protest. If that wasnāt enough, the front desk let some high schoolers go around the shop to all the customers trying to sell stuff for the school and when I answered I wasnāt interested, the high schoolers got confrontational not taking no for an answer and starting cussing everyone out including the staff. Why they were allowed to bother customers getting haircuts in the first place escapes me.
Just an unfortunate and unprofessional visit, the atmosphere didnāt feel safe and after this being the 3rd barber at this location Iāve had to try because of people quitting/leaving, I donāt think I'll...
