Came here last week for a fall shopping. Hit lots of brands and outlets and for the most part had a great time. Except for one store brand: Michael Kors. Gave 2 stars only for that reason. I love the brand and love shopping it, either online, or in malls and never ran into any issues with the brand itself ever. But this specific store location, oh my gosh. I wanted to run. The sales team was so aggressive with their sales techniques and procedures. In 15 minutes that I was there (ending up not buying anything, even though I knew exactly what i was looking for and planned to walk away with a purchase), 4 different workers came up to me while i was shopping around and asked me "do you need anything?" " do you need help with the price" "i see you like this particular style, do you want to see more?" "are you doing ok?" At first it felt sweet and welcoming, but after a third person in a row approaching me in less that 3 minutes each for no specific reason, other than to rush my sale, to create a hostile shopping experience and to pressure me into completing my purchase for them to make $$$, i felt such a strong anxiety that i wanted to vomit and run out of the store. These described 15 minutes above gave me such an anxious, negative, and disgusting experience, that it pretty much ruined my plans of a relaxing & pleasurable shopping on my day off that i planned with my partner for weeks, saved for, and was ready to spoil myself on. Michael Kors's aggressively selling assistants did everything to turn this plan into a very negative memory and seriously discouraged me to spend money on this brand that i love so much. Also, why those attendants seemed so desperate to make their commission..? Makes me at least share my experience with fellow shoppers and warn about the hostile shopping future ahead of them (not at all a luxury experience.) and at most question the brand's labor conditions...that perhaps are the reason for such rushed shopping culture the store is creating for its guests. "Being attacked by bees" is what I can describe this place. Hope this is heard by someone who needs to hear it. But i will not be back to Michael Kors, SF Premium Outlets.
P.S. just to add, I did let them know that i am ok and do not need assistance as of yet, and that i will let them know if that changes. this is ignored because 4 different people approach and they do not hear me say that. it's simply a culture. nothing close to a personalized approach and sincerely...
Read moreI luv a bargain and I do not find particular joy in clothes shopping. So I try to maximize my time, energy, and dollars when I do. With that in mind, I planned a shopping excursion out to the San Francisco (SF) Premium Outlets. I purposely did not go on a weekend. I did that to avoid the crowds and lack of sufficient parking. Overall my first ever experience at the SF outlets was a success ... I survived! I was able to purchase clothes, in my hard to find size, at bargain prices.
These outlets include a good mix of brands (designer , luxury, and mid-range). The luxury brands include Versace, Salvatore Ferragamo, Burberry, Prada, Tory Birch, Zegna... just to name a few. There was a food court and food stalls scattered about the outlet.
The outlet is beautifully designed and landscaped with art sculptures and plants; adding to a more pleasant shopping environment.
But my gripes are the parking lot and the lack of janitorial staff. The parking lot has only one exit/entrance. The flow of traffic gets logged jammed and it becomes the Wild West of line merging. Regarding the janitorial needs, I spent practically the entire day at the outlet and do not recall seeing any janitorial staff. The women's restroom closest to the food court was atrociously dirty and got more so during the day. Trash bins were overflowing and there was a strong sewage smell. The other restrooms were not as worse, but not clean either and less likely f a strong odor. Plus the food court dining area was a hot mess as well. Tables needed to be cleared...
Read moreThis shopping center is wonderful except just one thing. First, this center is well organized and very clean. There are plenty of parking spots and toilets are available. The companies in this shoping center are famous, and well stablshed in America. Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, and Tony Burch are just a few of them. Unfortunately, these companies and others do not make their products in the USA. In 1960 about 95 percent of clothes purchased in the USA were made domestically, now it is about 2 percent of clothes purchased in America actually made in the USA. And this is highly disturbing. There are companies like Karen Kane, Michael Stars, Taylor Stitch, AMVI Collection, Buck Mason and many others that are not in this shopping center. And, what all they have in common is a good quality of their products and that they all make their products only in the USA. This shopping center is a marvelous place to spend time, shop and meet new people. However, anyone who would like to support small businesses in America should consider shopping from alternative companies as well. Hopefully, the owner of this shopping center will attract at least a few companies that make their products exclusively in the USA. If i would like to travel to any other country, i would prefer to give a gift to someone that would clearly show the country i came from, "...
