I like cycling here in weeked mornings. I actually also like to bring my kids here for a picnic. It used to be nice but lately there's been more and more young stoner in the area. And today, we spotted some young people smoking weed close to families with many kids playing around in the area having their picnic or family times. My husband tried calling the park ranger but no one was available to answer the call. I heard some young kids saying what's the smell, ew, what's the smell, ugh. We couldn't stay there with our kids so we left. Writing this review to just give you guys a heads up. AND a PLUS their restrooms are the cleanest public restrooms I've ever seen! No restroom odors although if you plan on being there all day do take your tp and hand soap they do run out towards the end of the day but no biggie for me. Yes you do have to pay for entering which could range from $5 to $7 depending on the day of the week but its worth the peaceful day.    Read moreThis place has a paywall, and ironically shows its age with bumpy and cracked roads with potholes the deeper you go in. The parking lot of the old ranger station might destroy your tires or suspension!
That being said, it's still beautiful. You see all kinds of wildlife here. There's also the El Dorado Frontier and the model airplane area with a rather active clientele.
