The positive of this Residence Inn is the large penthouses with with the full kitchen (to include an oven) but thatâs where it ends. I checked in at 9pm for a 4 night stay and was horrified to find that the trash can in one of the bedrooms still had trash in it, the bed in the upstairs bedroom had a pillow with a head imprint and hair on the pillowcase, and when I pulled out the extra blankets/bedding to make up the sleeper sofa, the extra blanket smelled like strong smelly body odor!! Literally the housekeepers must just fold up the used blankets for the sleeper sofa and put them back in the bag and put it back in the closetâcompletely unsanitary, disgusting, and Iâm sure a violation of a health code!!
The next morning I removed all of the bedding from both bedrooms and all of the towels from both bathrooms and requested that they clean my room from top to bottom. It was very disappointing that I was in town for a funeral and had to request that my room be cleaned. I am a Gold Elite Bonvoy Member (soon to be platinum) and have NEVER had this issue if checking into a Marriott and finding the room has not been properly cleaned between guests.
Not only was the room cleanliness and issue but there was literally no hot waterâiwe had to let the water run for over 10 minutes each day/night in to get hot in the shower, and it never got hot in the kitchen. I can only imagine that the housekeepers donât use hot water when they are cleaning because I doubt they have 10 minutes to waste waiting for the water to get hot When I brought this to the attention of the front desk staff the next morning after I checked in, he told me that âdepending on the time of year, there isnât a lot of hot water.â Seriously, you expect someone to pay $400+/night for a possibility of hot water? If frugality were an Olympic sport, the owner of this Residence Inn would win the gold medal. I can only assume this is a franchise location as I cannot imagine this is a corporate run Marriott. Iâve stayed in many Residence Inns and have NEVER had to go to the office to request dishwashing liquidâone would assume that if all the rooms are equipped with kitchens and dishes, that the âfun sizeâ bottle of dishwashing liquid would not be âby request onlyâ which is what I was told by the front desk staff. When I arrived at 9pm my first night and checked into my room, not only did I notice there was no dishwashing liquid in the kitchen, but there was a used sponge (do they seriously think I want to touch a sponge used by previous guests?) in the kitchen and the roll of paper towels was down to a quarter of the rollâagain, that is so freaking unsanitary!! Leaving paper towels to be used from previous guests instead of putting a new roll that hasnât been touched. The one thing this location seems to excel at is cutting the complimentary breakfast off at exactly the 9:30am sharp end time. Iâve stayed at other locations who have offered complimentary coffee past the stated breakfast timeânot that it is a necessity, but it was 9:32am and I was using the coffee machine to get a cup to go and it literally cut off mid pour. At first I thought it was empty, but was told that the machine cuts off at the end of breakfastâI can only laugh because if this hotel was as efficient with its upkeep (room cleanliness, maintenance, and sanitation) , and as it is with cutting off the breakfast and coffee, then it would probably get repeat visitors, but I will NEVER stay at this location againâŚand if it is a franchise, then Marriott Corporate office needs to revisit the decision to grant this owner a license to operate this location because it is not worthy of the Marriott name. If it isnât a franchise then the corporate office needs to do an immediate inspection and review of the policies and practices at...
Read moreWe have been staying in quite a couple of different resident innâs over the past months, and I love them. I love the whole set up of the rooms, it feels like a home! Has a kitchen with its own supplies, A little living room, the couch turns into a bed, and the actual bed is super comfy! BUT My main concern has been the cleanliness of the rooms since I have two toddlers that get into everything and a newborn. This specific location was a bit disappointing. Now I know house keeping is not a easy job, so I ALWAYS try to make it easier on them and pick up everything I can when we check out. And leave whatever I used and is dirty in a nice pile so they know what to clean. Its a lot of hard work for them but I noticed they donât pay attention to detail. Theirs things like forgetting to fill up the shampoo and body wash, changing the dirty shower curtains, and checking under the couch. With this particular room, the first thing I noticed was the horrible smell. Itâs smells like a wet dog. especially by the bed. The second most disturbing thing I saw was dirty cups. I thought it was stained at first , but when I wiped it, it came right off. With all thatâs going on thatâs just alarming to me.The previous guest could of(well with the looks of it just had) his/hers mouth on it and put it back and no one bothered to wash it for the new guest. I have children so if course i pay attention to whatever goes in my childâs mouth. Their was popcorn under the couch, they didnât put a new popcorn on the table, their was a note from the previous guest left on the table, and their was a dirty towel hanging on top of the toliet. I wish I could change rooms but itâs hard to get up a move with kids and all our belongings.i just wish house keeping would pay a little bit more attention to detail. Now there was a note that has the housekeeping name on it, and mine is ELSA, so it may just be how she cleans, so I do not want to blame the entire house keepers. But I noticed in other locations certain ladies didnât clean right either. As I previously said itâs a hard job and they canât get everything, but with this virus going on I do think itâs best management get on their housekeepers to sanitize and disinfect EVERYTHING ESPECIALLY THE KITCHEN UTENSILS in these rooms because you just never know what the previous guest may carry. And for guest never get too comfortable always take some type of disinfection spray and spray EVERYTHING! door knobs, the handles on the dresser, the counters, the toliet seat, and now your own sponge and dish soap to wash anything you use of theirs just to be on...
Read moreInternet Service: The property has limited areas for accessing the internet. As such, some rooms are unable to access service.
Rooms: This is an older property that maintains one of the original Residence Inn designs. As such, it feels more like an apartment complex than a hotel, which is great. Although it's an older property, the rooms have been updated to include newer appliances, granite counters, track lighting, and a wall fixed headboard. Unfortunately, looks do not account for comfort. The rooms here are inconsistent with the Marriott brand. The mattress is both uncomfortable to sit and lay on. It is not the plush comfort experience promoted by the brand. In looking for the tag to confirm that it was a Marriott brand mattress, there was none available. Instead, I found foam inside of a zipped cover. I also found that the cover had ripped open. With the king room, you do not get the full use of a king-size mattress because the base is a California king, which leaves the sides of the mattress hanging over without structural support. The couch is a convenient feature. However, couch cushions have lost their structure, making the couch unusable.
Check-In: Check-in took approximately 7 minutes. The front desk staff was efficient and polite but not warm. There was no exchange of a smile or use of a brand greeting.
Parking: Parking is sufficient for 1-2 cars per suite. Parking spaces are average size and become cramped when persons are driving larger vehicles (SUV, standard pick up truck, etc.)
Breakfast (Corrected): Due to COVID, breakfast service has changed. The cold options are available to grab and go, with some being individually wrapped. There were also paper bags for carrying items back to your room if preferred. The hot food options were by request only. A picture menu showed options available, and staff brought the items out in individual plastic containers. For thrifty persons, the containers are easily reused for heating leftovers or can be left in...
