This place never disappoints!! Didn't think it could get any better but to my surprise they added more items for the premium ayce option (January 2025). Going premium is definitely worth it! The selections are fresh, and the sushi is super melt in your mouth buttery. The uni is soft and velvety with a fried crunchy topper that makes it a perfect bite. Salmon roe (ikura) sushi was very flavorful with a pleasing texture as you chew. The soft shell crabs are wonderful.
The regular ayce menu has a lot of choices as well. Plenty of sushi options, poke sashimi, appetizers, salads, udon soup, and if you're into rolls, there's a ton to choose from, including some smaller rice free/low carb rolls.
The spicy tuna crispy rice has to be one of my favorite appetizers here, as well as the jalapeño shrimp - the sauce is lovely, not overly spicy. The crispy squid legs and classic tempura are great too. There are a lot of appetizer options.
If you enjoy cooked fish do yourself a favor and order yellowtail or salmon Kama (collar), you will not regret it (there is a limited supply, so if this is your jam, come early. It's always perfectly cooked served with lemon wedges and a tangy savory dipping sauce.
I really love that you can request hand rolls for the traditional maki rolls!! Perfect if you crave a traditional roll, but don't want to overstuff yourself with too much rice.
The jalapeño yellowtail sushi is always one of my favorites, tuna is always a winner and if you've never tried surf clams here they are very tender, slightly sweet with an addicting pop of wasabi flavor. The octopus sushi has that nice slightly chewy texture and isn't rubbery in texture. The salads are great to get in some greens, the sashimi salad is my favorite, the dressing is savory. Cucumber salad is also nice.
The service is always excellent here, the staff is very friendly and attentive. You will never be waiting long for service, they will come and inform you if there is a delay in bringing out your order when they get busy and they're always checking to see if you'd like drink refills, clearing plates right away as you eat to your hearts content, and they do not hesitate to bring extra ginger & wasabi if you request it. Highly recommend.
One thing to note is if you come on a weekend or holiday, it's dinner prices all day. If you want to try it out for the first time, if you are able to, come during the week at lunch for a lower ayce price. Also note, if you want all you can eat, everyone in your party has to be on board. This place gets really busy, recommend arriving early to avoid...
Read moreWe used to come to this place all the time when it was Aburi sushi. The menu is still very much the same as Aburi with some changes that unfortunately turned this into a spot we likely won’t return to. The following items are still as good as before: poke sashimi, chili garlic edamame, jalapeno shrimp, and most of the sushi. Now onto the changes that in my opinion make this no longer worth the trip to Long Beach. They separate premium AYCE and regular AYCE whereas before you were limited to one piece each of the premium items (all included in one price) and raised all prices. Also, Friday lunch is considered the weekend so no lunch price. The rolls are significantly less tasty and have way less variability across the rolls offered. Everything comes with spicy mayo drenched on top and more or less tastes the same. The final straw for was that they don’t even include the free scoop of ice cream at the end of your meal! Instead they’re charging $3. Seriously such an easy way to have your customers end on a positive note, but not anymore. Bummed about all the ownership changes, guess we have to find a...
Read moreThis was such a great experience for all you can eat sushi!! Absolutely loved it. The atmosphere, the staff, the food, it was all great. Me and my boyfriend ordered the normal AYCE, not the premium, for $42.99 and still found it to be so so so worth it. I’m so glad we picked this place over all the other ones. You get a 2 hour time limit, which was just enough time for me and him to get in all the food we needed. We tried so many different pieces of sushi, they were all so great. Some favorites of mine include the no rice salmon sushi, the salmon sashimi, salmon tama, yellowtail sashimi, yeagar roll, yuzu salmon, fried oysters, and the salmon crunch roll. Try these if you go! Seriously, I want to go back already, despite being so full yesterday after eating haha. I’ll definitely be back here, I hope the quality always stays as great as it is. From my experience, I had no fishy or old pieces of fish, and the texture of the salmon was just perfect. Thanks guys! Also, the food came out so fast it’s crazy. These guys know what they’re doing, and...
