Rotary Centennial Park — Attraction in Long Beach

I just moved here a week ago and I have a balcony that overlooks the park. I thought it was beautiful until the first morning I was awaken by a ln old homeless man screaming for his life as another homeless man chased him with a knife. There are homeless people smoking meth...I don't like to go out there now as they are taking over the park at night and early morning. Can't even enjoy the beauty of the park. Sad. I asked the neighbors and they all tell the same story but the park employee i spoke to the teo times ive called lied to me saying they close the paark every night at 10. I said Sir im 58 years old please dont lie to me.... I've been here a week aand the gate haas never been shut and locked. So they locked it on the 8th night we we're here but has been open all day and night ever since. That was two weeks ago. Im paying $600 more in rent from my last place and have to deal with homeless throwing rocks at my windows and balcony doors.But ill keep posting and taking pics and calling the cops until we get some...

It's a nice park and convenient to the neighborhood. It has 2 playgrounds for the kids and enough pathway to ride the bikes or scooters with the kids. Down side about it is there's druggies roam around the park getting high. Camping at the park and leaving condoms at plain sight also sharp objects which are a danger to our kids...

Very sad because my kid loves the planets and this is a really nice set-up; however, there was a homeless couple sleeping on one of the play structures, swarms of sand flies, and trash strewn about...very sad.
