Seven Presidents is named for the seven United States presidents who made Long Branch their summer residents.
This beach park has outstanding beaches. The best time to beach comb is at low tide when the pebbles and rocks are exposed, and if you have patience and a good eye, you will find wonderful sea glass, fossils, as well as the beach parks most treasured sand dollars. SP is known for its huge white sand beaches that are safe and protected by NJs award winning life guards. A green flag means swimming is ok, red flag, and you're not allowed in. Be advised that SP is known for it rip tides, and if not careful, you can easily get taken out by the current. This is more of an issue during hurricane season when storms are passing by off shore. People not experienced with this phenomenon will often try to swim directly back to the beach, which is exactly what will exaust you and ultimately cause your demise. Remember if caught in a rip swim to the left or the right until you are no longer being swept by the current, often the rip will only be in a 10 foot wide area so swimming to the left or right will remove you from the control of the current, once free from the clutches of the current your able to casually make it back to shore a dozen safety alive.
The park doesn't allow pets on the beach in the summer. We visit after hours or in the off-season.

PWC are no longer allowed... unfortunately. That was the greatest part of SP. Direct access for PWCs and jet skis was the most convenient way to enjoy the ocean until several Karen's and Corkys complained like b*tch s and ruined the...
