Dear all! Besides almost letting my father died from hypotension in the ER because fluids weren’t started right away on a possible “septic shock” patient, the only good thing was that the ER nurses were nice. MD, not so good. I would give a NO star if I could! Unfortunately, my father was admitted to UCI Health Los Alamitos after he was found shivering and on assessment, a possible left sided weakness was noted. I was getting him ready to be taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he had his previous surgery but due to the stroke symptoms called EMS. The ER MD and nurses on the first day were very pleasant. Ginny, my father’s nurse, was so kind so I decided to take a large box of See’s Candies and a box of Skinny Popcorn on Father’s Day for the nurses. Here goes… My father just lost his sister this week, his dog suddenly expired, and knew he couldn’t make his sister’s funeral therefore, today, being Father’s Day, our family wanted to see him. I took my 11 soon to be 12 year old son and left him with grandpa, who was alert and oriented times 4. I was so busy and unconsciously went to get my mother. She lives 5 minutes away. I rescued a puppy for them since they were so sad, fed my 15 week puppy, and we were on our way. As I was driving in, Pam, the House supervisor called. The first thing after asking if I was the daughter, she HARSHLY asked if I left my minor son at the hospital and if I don’t pick him up or come back “immediately” she would call the “police department.” I told her to call them. It was such a malicious and calculated statement to me. I was shocked and disgusted with her tone and her THREAT. She claimed I had “abandoned” my son. I’ll tell you one thing, Cedars-Sinai would never tolerate such obnoxious, unprofessional behavior to patient’s family member. Pam, house supervisor and the Charge RN (Keshia Holliday-Navas) threaten, harassed, and argued with me, for no good reason, for approximately 1 hour.
The Charge RN, Keshia Holliday-Navas was even worse. She stood outside the CCU door and started arguing with me. Using the same talking points as the Pam, House Supervisor, “abandonment”. I felt extremely threaten and unsafe. Even worse, unsafe for my father. She called me “sweetie” many times condescendingly even after I told her “never call me sweetie” since I have a name. She actually did it more rolling her eyes and shaking her head at me. My father, the patient, also stated that she was lurking around his room when I called his cell when my mother and son were in the room. When I called his cell, because they wouldn’t let me wait outside the door, Keshia Holliday-Navas invaded our private phone call in his room while I was having a conversation with my son on my FATHER’S cell phone. She actually started up her crazy rant! She was lurking around to pick a fight and harass my family. If she could do this to patient’s family, I promise, she has done this to nurses, other family members, and healthcare professionals. These two nurses need to be investigated and terminated for their threatening and harassing behavior. This world needs nurses with more class, skills, and compassion. Not disgusting degenerates with literally no communication skills like them. UCI Health should be Embarrassed! I have never dealt with such intentional malice, threatening, and harassing behavior.
I’M EXTREMELY SCARED FOR THE CARE OF MY FATHER THERE BECAUSE I KNOW HOW NURSES GIVE REPORT AND THEIR HERD MENTALITY.
I want to say again, we had such wonderful nurses on Saturday and I’m sure we will encounter more great nurses. BUT Keshia Holliday-Navas and Pam, Supervisor, who needed security at her side during her harassment are obnoxious and embarrassing to the healthcare profession. They are the reason hospitals get a bad name. It only takes one experience like this to loathe a hospital. Our family, full of healthcare professionals and others professions, will always remember these two people, KESHIA HOLLIDAY-NAVAS, charge that day in CCU and PAM, HOUSE SUPERVISOR!
It’s the worst place....

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Million and One Stars for the Care I Received ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I recently visited the ER 8/9/25 and had another incredible experience that I feel deeply grateful for. From start to finish, the level of care I received was nothing short of amazing. I would truly give a million and one stars if I could—especially to my nurse Noel and my doctor. Their professionalism, compassion, and dedication were clear every step of the way.
Noel, this isn’t our first run-in, and while I truly hope it’s our last (at least in a hospital setting!), I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the care, patience, and kindness you showed me once again. You go above and beyond, and it never goes unnoticed.
This hospital genuinely cares about your health. They treat you like a person, not just a patient—and that makes all the difference.
I also want to gently remind anyone reading this: when you visit an ER, please remember it’s not a hotel, and the staff are not there to wait on you—they’re there to save lives. If you’re waiting, it usually means you’re stable and someone more critical needs immediate care. Once you understand that, your whole perspective shifts, and the experience becomes much less frustrating.
So thank you again, to Noel, my amazing doctor, and the entire ER team. You’re all heroes, and I’m incredibly thankful for everything you do!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ UPDATE
I recently had a visit to the ER at UCI Los Alamitos (7/27/25) , and while I did spend my entire stay in the ER lobby (which is just the reality of how emergency rooms can be these days), I still received absolutely outstanding care from the entire team.
Nurses Alyssa and Jenny truly went above and beyond for me. They were so kind, patient, and attentive—making me feel genuinely seen and cared for. It’s rare to feel that kind of compassion in such a busy environment, but they managed it effortlessly.
I also want to thank Dr. Keenan and Dr. Icasiano, who were both brilliant. Despite the chaos of a very hectic ER, they were incredibly thorough in trying to figure out what was going on with me and helped manage my pain with empathy and professionalism.
As someone who is chronically ill and unfortunately has to visit the hospital often, it really meant a lot to feel heard. That simple act of being listened to is powerful, and it says a lot about the culture and care at this ER.
Thank you again to everyone who helped me—I can’t say it enough.
I never thought I’d be writing a positive review about an ER visit, but here we are — and it’s all thanks to the incredible team who took care of me on 7/19/25 around 7 PM.
From the moment I got there, Liz and Natasha (my amazing nurses) were total angels. They were patient, gentle, and truly present — checking in on me, making sure I was as comfortable as possible, and showing real compassion in a situation that can easily feel overwhelming. You don’t always get that level of care in a hospital setting, but they went above and beyond.
The EMT specialist — aka the guy with the great hair (you know who you are!) — was not only professional and kind during the visit, but after my stay, he personally wheeled me out to my car. He made sure I got in safely and even took a moment to meet my adorable puppy — and he was an absolute sweetheart to her too! That little gesture meant so much more than he probably realized.
And then there’s Dr. Chapman. I can’t thank him enough . It’s rare these days to meet a doctor, especially in the ER, who genuinely listens. He didn’t rush, he asked thoughtful questions, and he made me feel heard — which honestly made all the difference.
This whole team reminded me that there are still people in healthcare who truly care. I walked (well, rolled) out of there feeling not just better physically, but seen and respected. Thank you all for treating me like a human and not just a chart. You’re...
Read moreI went to Los Al ER in 1/2023 with stroke symptoms. ER personnel asked questions and did an EKG and blood work in the lobby since ER was busy. EKG was ok, so I guess they thought I was ok despite very high blood pressure. The 1st doctor thought I had Vertigo and had staff give me a pill. I told them I previously had Vertigo and this was different. They said nothing. Hours later a nurse put in an IV to do a brain scan with dye. I waited another hour or more, then they wheeled me into the scan room only to have the Radiologist send me back to have the IV redone since it wasn’t in right. After putting in a new IV I waited longer. While waiting, a new doctor took over. They wheeled me back to Radiology and the moment we entered the Radiologist got off the phone to say the scan was canceled by the new doctor. I would think the scan was needed to rule out stroke or TIA, especially since I was having sharp pain in 1 side of my head. When getting ready to release me a nurse took my blood pressure & it was very high. They kept me longer to give meds to bring down my BP. This all took 8-10 hours. Soon after I started to receive calls from "Hospital Office.” I was victim of fraud last year and don't trust incoming calls, so each time someone called I told them I will pay from the bill. Bills were sent on 2/16/23 and 2/23/23. My portion was almost $2k. I paid $349.50 on 3/13/23. 2 more bills were sent on 3/23/23 and 4/12/23 and I paid another $250 on 4/19/23. We were renovating our house and our lives were upside down, so time got away from me in May. 2 more bills were sent on 5/3/23 and 5/23/23. On 6/15/23 I called the hospital to say I need to make payments and paid another $100. The man I spoke to said they can do different payment plans. I chose a $90/month plan with next payment due July 16th. I paid $90 July 5th and thought by making the payment early they would know not to take out an automatic payment on July 16, but on July 13th another $66.39 was charged on my health savings account, all that was left on the card. I felt like I was being harassed. I tried to make another payment in August but couldn’t access the account. I called hospital billing on 8/21/23 and was told another office now had my account. When I called that office I learned that my account was sent to collections. I was beyond frustration. After spending a couple hours on the phone between Los Al Med Ctr and the collection agency trying to discern why the account went to collections, I finally asked to speak to a supervisor at Los Al Med Ctr. When I spoke to the supervisor, she noted how I had been making payments and the account should not have gone to collections. She said she was bringing back the account from collections. Yesterday I went to the Los Al Med Ctr website to make another payment and my account is not showing. This tells me the account wasn’t brought back from collections. Does anyone know what they’re doing?
10-13-23 Update - Since speaking with the Supervisor who said she would bring back my account from collections I tried to make a payment several times but was unable to because my information was not yet back in the Los Alamitos payment website. I've had no way to make a payment since I spoke with that Supervisor. I received no further bills. Today I received another letter from a collections agency. It appears the account was not brought back from collections, or, possibly brought back then sent to another collections agency because I couldn't make a payment in September. I don't deal with collection agencies because 1) I always pay my debt, and 2) There is so much fraud going on today I don't trust anyone. Once again, I feel as though I'm being harassed because this hospital's billing department appears to not know how to work...
