This is my new favorite dog park! Don't come here, it's all mine! Open sunrise to sunset everyday.
Design: urban center area with sidewalks, lots of seating, and astroturf with small hills and rocks maintained natural landscape with original trees and grasses on edges providing plenty of shade. Almost feels like a hike when walking the ridge, but lots of poop that hasn't been picked up. Potential for a dog to get very dirty while exploring.
Dog Amenities: only one water fountain but many water bowls you can fill and move elsewhere. no poop bags, just scoopers. Since the trash cans don't have lids, this means it smells awful near the trash with lots of flies. (Update: trash cans have lids now!) one shared area for all dog sizes
Parking: street parking right outside the dog park is very limited. There is an overflow parking dirt lot for Eagle Rock Recreation Center ACROSS Figueroa St, nestled between freeway ramps. The main parking lot is on the other side of the recreation center off Eagle Vista Dr.
Crowds: during the heat of the day in summer, it still wasn't empty. On a summer Tuesday night at sunset, extraordinarily crowded, almost claustrophobic.
Despite the crowds, limited parking, lack of poop bags, smells, and flies, still my new favorite dog park because the design is so cool! :) (Update: trash cans have lids now! Less smelly, but its also winter right now,...

I noticed immediate aggression from him and sensed he genuinely was going to attack my dog (for less tense situations I would usually just recall my dog to distance) so I went to separate my dog because under no circumstances will I let my dog get hurt from an irresponsible owner. I donāt know what your dog will do and if I see something that doesnāt look right Iām pulling my dog no matter what.
good thing I did pull my dog because this dog attacked me multiple times as I tried to escape. I grabbed my dog to walk away and this womanās dog lunged at me many times and was relentless in trying to bite my dog. she was like āhe thinks itās a game if youāre holding himā. excuse me? Iām supposed to what, leave him as a chew toy and let you play with my dogās life because your dog is untrained and aggressive?
her husky repeatedly lunged at me to bite my dog but she still refused to leash him. other owners know when to break it up and leash their dogs so why couldnāt you? keep your untrained dog at home! I would steer clear of this park if you see this person and their white and red husky because itās not worth endangering your dog over someone who canāt...
