This place is busy and parking can be a little tough. As soon as you walk in, you are warmly greeted. It gets busy, but the line moves fast. They had so many items to purchase besides coffee. It was hard to focus. They had cute mugs, a variety of coffees, and so much more. As soon as it was my turn to order, Annie (owner) was super friendly and took the time to help me choose pastries to eat and coffee beans to take back home to my parents. Annie explained how she loves doing coffee collabs and she's owned and operated this place for 10 years. The way she explains products and talks to customers, you can just tell by the vibe that she loves what she does.
I ordered:
Iced ceramonial matcha latte: This was a nice comforting drink. It wasn't overly strong, matcha, and you can taste the hint of honey. The perfect drink while I stand in line outside for Gooey Center Cinnamon rolls.
Nutella croissant: Messy delightful treat, with nutella throughout
Strawberries and cream: I wasn't a fan of this one. It was a little too tart for me. I didn't get much sweetness from the cream.
Mini donut holes w/ vanilla cream filling: This would have been tasty without the filling. It tasted like cream cheese and kind of threw the flavor off
They had a cool colab going on with Gooey Center, cinnamon rolls, and Hap's Burgers. You can get coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and cinnamon rolls in one place. It's like a one-stop shop. It's super convenient for the shopper like me. I was able to try all 3 places while waiting for Gooey Center to set up and open up.
Highly recommend coming by and checking out. Annie is super nice. She made me feel welcome and even introduced me to some of her customers. She had shown me where to line up for Gooey Center and spoke of Hap's Burgers. Hap's burger is there on Wednesday and Saturday. Gooey Center pops up there on Saturdays sometimes. You'll have to check the website and see where they are...
Read moreI write for a music and coffee blog called Crooners In Coffeeshops, in which I interview local musicians at local coffeeshops. My writeup reflects the positive experience that I encountered at Found Coffee on our interview date.
Lost in Eagle Rock? Wander into Found Coffee to get your fix of delicious coffees, relaxing specialty teas, and mouth-watering pastries. From hand drips to bourbon vanilla lattes to Moroccan mint green teas, there is a beverage for every type of preference. But the bread winners hee hee are the scrumptious baked goods displayed in the case next to the counter. Caramel polenta coffee cakes, ube pilinut pies, vegan/gluten-free muffins and more call to you as you gt ready to pay for your drink, and boy is it hard to say ‘no!’ I opted for the Nutella puff pie with a lavender iced tea, a perfect combination of sweet and savory to sing to the senses.
With plenty of space to settle yourself down at, there is absolutely no excuse not to meet at Found Coffee for a study date or to catch up with an out of town friend. Its own parking lot and non-congested neighborhood parking make it unsurprising that it’s a popular place to be at any time of the day. Their community billboard showcasing local charities, events, services and everything in between prove that anyone who visits the shop is an immediate friend to the lovely people who work there. Read moreI was a barista, once upon a time, and I was extremely unimpressed with the coffee. Its an 8oz cup which is small for the price. Smaller than a Starbucks Tall for reference. Also, different coffee roasters require different coffee/water/grind ratios to achieve the perfect extraction and flavor profile the roaster requires. Their espresso machine calibration is off and my wife and I could taste it. They are not paying attention to the details of coffee. The location is tremendous and they could be doing much more business if they paid attention to the details. They don’t warm pastries also It seems as if pastries were not made in house, not a problem but again, a quality control issue. When a coffee drinker wants a quality hot espresso beverage and a croissant, a coffee shop paying the rent they pay should deliver, every time. The recovers some stars for the nice man cooking breakfast quesadilla’s out front. Quality quesadilla every Sunday folks. Bacon, chorizo, or, vegetarian. Hopefully the constructive review helps you and...
